To find that the hotel bar closed at 8pm and there was no pool table was disappointing, had this been known we would have booked elsewhere. "Comfortable and well equipped home from home. Welcoming and communicative hosts and an excellent guide to the local area. The parking disc was a handy and thoughtful idea! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cooked a few nights in, kitchen is fine and functional. The bath is large and lovely and the bed comfortable . The Milner York formerly the Principal York

"Wonderful experience staying at the Milner in York. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the hotel is beautiful and exudes a calm and tranquil vibe. The superior twin room was spotless and very comfortable. Very large modern and bright bathroom and wide access rainfall shower. The lighting in the room was a bit dim for me but may suit others. Lovely pool which wasn’t busy. Good buffet breakfast which was leisurely and offered a wide variety of options. We requested a late checkout and as it was my birthday and courtesy of the hotel, I received a complimentary plate of delicious mini cakes which added to the special magic of this wonderful hotel. Staff go the extra mile and are happy to cater for any request. Ideally placed for walking around the stunning historic sites of York and jumping on the train home! Definitely recommended. "
