Spacious flat, stunning views, close to beaches and pub - family & dog friendly

Our changeover day is Saturday. Please enquire with us directly for availability for short breaks of less than 1 week or longer stays. We are flexible in the off season.

A spacious first floor apartment with a master bedroom with en-suite (including whirlpool bath) and a second bedroom with a double bed. There is a separate shower room which includes washing and drying machines, toilet and basin. The lounge is very spacious with fabulous views towards Thurlestone Sands, Thurlestone Rock and rolling countryside at the rear. There is a dining area with room to seat 6. The apartment building is set within around 4 acres of grounds, and includes dedicated car park. It is a very quiet location from which to relax.

Thurlestone is a pretty village with thatched houses, and village church. The flat is 5 minutes walk from the local pub, and Thurlestone Village Store and Post Office. Four excellent beaches are all within walking distance.

It is great for walkers, with direct access to South West Coastal footpath and local dog friendly beaches.

The flat is located around 8 miles from Salcombe and 4 miles from Kingsbridge.

Stunning location
The flat is lovely - but really it’s all about the location . The views are incredible and wonderful that you can easily walk to either Bantham or Thurlestone. The walks along the coast are incredible .

Well this property delivered beyond our expectations. Such a clean, spacious and tastefully decorated apartment. Beds were so comfortable. But it’s the views that were amazing, short walk to a fantastic pub with great food. Easy walk to the beaches or a very short drive. We will return…loved by the who family!

Spectacular location
A spacious flat in a beautiful location, straight out to the coastal path to Bentham or Milton Sands, or a short walk across the field to the excellent village pub. We were blessed with great weather and saw beautiful Devon at its best.

Lovely flat with amazing views
We really enjoyed our stay at this flat. It is light and airy, with stunning views from every room. It is well set up with all the equipment you might need, plus lots of extras for kids. It is lovely and peaceful, with no noise from the other flats in the house. The grounds are lovely too, with lots of room for kids to play or have a bbq. It is an easy walk to both Thurlestone and Bantham, and there is a footpath directly to the coast path and the beaches. We did lots of surfing at Bantham, and canoeing on the Avon and the Salcombe estuaries, as well as some stunning walks along the coast. If you like peace and quiet, and doing lots of outdoor activities this is a great place to stay. The owner, Chris, is very helpful and responds straight away to any messages. Altogether, we highly recommend this property.

Lovely airy large apartment with spectacular views. The village is a short walk with a golf and tennis club with grass courts nearby. We would recommend this to anybody as a great location for a relaxing break.

What an amazing part of the country, and what a spacious, comfy and well appointed place to stay: incredible views and accessible (albeit via v narrow lanes everywhere) to lots of lovely places. I hope we'll be back.

Half term break
Having already visited previously we wanted to return to Thurlestone with the children during half term. Despite the weather we had a good week. The apartment is lovely and has fantastic views. It has everything you need for all ages. We had a slight hiccup with the arrival and the cleaner but this was soon rectified and Chris the owner dealt with this quickly and sufficiently. We were unable to use the bath during the week due to suspected plumbing issues linked to the main building, which is currently being investigated and fixed. This was a little inconvenient as easier with the baby but the shower in the 2nd bathroom was fine and we were able to manage. Chris was in contact regularly, updating us. This certainly didn’t put us off and we will be returning in the future. It really is a lovely place to stay and we would highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous property with large rooms and amazing views down to the sea from Thurlestone Rock all the way to Burgh Island. Very well provisioned with quality equipment and also provided with some helpful instructions on local amenities and attractions. The view is amazing.

Beautiful apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Absolutely stunning views to the coast and surrounding countryside. Loved the location as you can see so much. The area is beautiful too, lovely beaches and good local pubs to walk to. The Beach House cafe/restaurant is a must on South Milton Sands, excellent food all freshly made. Would definitely recommend this property!

Stunning Stay
The flat is in a perfect location...easy access to Thurlestone village...numerous walks and just the best views! The flat is very spacious...immaculately clean...warm and despite the constant winds blowing outside...very quiet. It has everything you need and an instruction book for all the electronics. Chris was easily available to reply to a couple of initial questions(we didn’t find the black welcome book until the second day)...we had such a great trip we are already looking at when we can return.

Fabulous Stay
Fabulous flat with amazing views very clean . Beautiful beaches all around, views off Burgh Island were just amazing . We ate at the village inn (just walk to the corner of the garden and across one field and your there!) the hope and anchor at hope cove the sloop inn at Bantham and the ship inn at Noss mayo all were excellent, we will definitely return .

Fantastic property in a lovely location and spotlessly clean. Much bigger than it looks online.
We've just returned from a fantastic week at the Downs and would definitely recommend this property. The location and views are amazing, beaches are walkable and Thurlestone itself is just a short walk along the path. It's right on the coastal path as well so is great for longer walks. The property itself is excellent, possibly the cleanest property we've stayed in, and the pictures online don't do it justice, it's much more spacious than it looks. Chris is a great host and very good at responding to any questions we had. The only reasons that this wasn't a 5 were because there didn't seem to be a hairdryer, although this was specifically listed, which meant a swift amazon prime delivery was needed, and because of a slight issue in getting hold of the keys. This seems to have been a one off though and Chris sorted it really quickly for us. Overall a wonderful, well-equipped property which is definitely worth a stay.
