Gorgeous New Condo with Ocean View

This newly remodeled one bedroom, one bathroom apartment takes advantage of the frontal ocean view with 12 foot sliding glass doors that extend all the way across the front of the apartment. It is significantly larger than other one bedroom units in this complex, at 880 square feet (most others are 616 square feet).

Across the street is The Cove, a beach park with gentle, beginner friendly waves and surfboard and stand-up paddle board rentals, and Kalama Beach Park, which has large white sand beach areas, extensive playgrounds and grassy recreational areas. Charley Young Beach Park is just a 3 minute walk away as well.

Our kitchen design has been custom designed so the cook can enjoy an expansive ocean view. Along with all new appliances, cabinets and countertops, it has all the equipment you will need to cook and eat, as well as a basic cooking supplies such as oil, salt, and basic spices and condiments.

The bedroom is very spacious, with a new king size bed, and room to put a little one in a pack and play or another child or adult on a folding futon. Our living room has a queen size sleeper sofa with a memory foam topper.

We have a large flat screen TV, cable, DVD player, a (works for iPad, smartphone, iPod) enabled sound system, high speed wireless internet, and a landline phone with free calls within the United States and Canada. We have a washer and dryer in the apartment.


There is a gorgeous pool area with an ocean view, tennis courts, gas barbecues, covered patio tables and furnished lounge area. Read a book, take a nap, get a tan or enjoy a cocktail poolside.

The South Kihei area has the best climate, least rain, cooling breezes and the closest proximity to each and every activity desirable! A 5 minute drive to Kihei Boat Ramp provides boat access for boat rentals, whale watching, scuba diving and the famous Maui snorkel trip to Molokini! Bring your binoculars between December and April and watch some of the 10,000 humpback whales that come here each winter to give birth.

Great location

Comfortable and spacious condo across from cove park. Easy walk to Charley Young Beach, Kam 1, and lots of good food options. Condo has what you need for the beach. Great communication with Adam, the owner, he was super quick to answer any questions. Can't wait to come back!

Very nice condo we went snorkeling, shopping and ate to much ! Didn’t cook in the kitchen but everything was there if we wanted too. We sat out on the lanai a lot so it would be a big improvement with better chairs to sit in would be my suggestion 😁

Condo was in a good location. Quiet even though on main road through town very quiet when doors closed. Stocked well. View is good as watching the cove has many things going on. Walking distance to grocery, bars, shopping, and beaches. Great place to stay. Mahalo

Great Corner Unit with Awesome Sunsets
Great condo across the street from Cove Beach but awesome views and just a brief walk via crossing right out in front of complex ! Bed was very comfortable, spaces were large and roomy. Stocked kitchen, linens and an entire array of beach toys! Some road noise but not distracting Great communication with quick replies. Would definitely recommend and rent again!

What a gift!
Coming here always allows me the best of everything! Able to walk to anything, ocean, beaches, activities food... even the best morning coffe shop! Then to have the beauty and the comfort of this condo is so relaxing and supportive. I can sit in the porch with the best mountain view in Kihei!!!

Great condo, great location
Host was fantastic with communication and quickly helped us with anything we needed or had questions about. Condo was great and included beach gear and cooler. Washer and dryer in unit was helpful as well depending on how long you’re staying. Balcony has a nice view of the sunset each night and also perfect for a quick surf check (beginner/longboard surf beach across the street). Location was awesome though, walking distance to tons of restaurants and bars, shopping, and a nice garden/food truck center. Also a short walk to Charley Young beach which was our favorite spot if staying close to the condo. Definitely recommend a car though as there is so much to see in Maui. Overall could not recommend this listing enough, will definitely be saving this one for future trips out there!

Not enough adjectives to describe!
Aloha, we spent 17 amazingly relaxing nights here. It truly felt like home away from home. The condo is nicer than the pictures depict. As previous vacation rental owners we understand fully the time and effort that goes into upgrading and the constant repairs that come with it. Adam and Brayce have done an outstanding job! We never once used the two A/C units because we don't care for A/C, but more because the breeze that flows thru the condo by leaving all the windows open is fantastic! Spacious, roomy, comfortable, great location, spectacular view, fabulous, awesome...pick your adjective! We are planning our return trip for next January! Mahalo!

Hit and miss
For the value its not bad. Maui was awesome, but the location might be a little sketchy to some who are suburbian/country folk. More homeless people than I expected. They weren’t aggressive, but its all around. North of stay is a little sketchy, but If you head South it gets really nice really quick. The beach chairs and cooler were great to have at stay! We didn’t watch much TV, but when trying, it will take you a while to figure out. Ive never had a harder time trying to watch TV. The owner is quick to reply with questions. I imagine bugs are an issue nearly everywhere in Maui, but I definitely know there is an issue here. The bed was comfortable, but it could use a nicer couch. We were worried about parking being an issue but it never was, plus its free! I was okay with the stay, but I’m not a picky person. Not a bad value play for Maui.

Great home base for our Maui trip
We definitely enjoyed our stay at this condo. The location was perfect, across from a mellow beginner surf break for our kids and their friends to learn at. Central Kihei is right nearby so our two teens could venture off to visit the skate park, outdoor roller rink and endless shave ice and trinket shops. The condo itself is well stocked with beach gear, including a big rolling cooler. The place gets great light and a breeze can blow from the back to the front of the apt. The AC also works great. The kitchen is well equipped and the small deck/lanai is a nice feature. The pool area (with a small hot tub) has a long covered table and 3 new gas grills (with a great view of the ocean). We happily ate several meals out there. One thing to note is there are many long/full time residents at Shores of Maui, so noisy teens were definitely irritating a few of them (by the pool area). I don’t blame them it’s just something to be aware of. Lastly, Adam responded super quickly to messages through the VRBO app, which we really appreciated. All in all, we are big fans of this condo and would definitely rent it again.

A/C in living area inoperable as/per ad, fold out mattress did not have a memory topper as/per ad
Maddening. Tried contacting owner for 3 days, explaining that we had an infant and a guest w/ a heart condition, before any action taken to repair a/c. Spent 4/5 days of our stay in humid swelter and had to place sofa sleeper mattress on floor of bedroom in order to have cooling. Manager uncooperative. Asking us to clean a/c and confirm temperatures before sending maintenance which took an additional 3 days. Minimum reply time of 12 hrs. each time. Offered apologies and small rebate disproportionate to a major daily hassle to our family Maui vacation.

Large and convenient condo with a view
We really couldn't have been happier with the condo. It was everything I was expecting and more. It seemed larger than I thought it would be and I liked the layout with the large bedroom in the back and the living room and kitchen around the corner in the front. It really was a lot of space to stretch out. We liked the balcony for mornings and evenings to watch the people go by getting their excercise, walking their dogs, or on their way to the beach. The condo was well equiped and everything was pretty easy to figure out. If I had to think of one thing that could be improved, the couch could use a little more support in the cushions with some extra foam or something but we didn't spend much time sitting in the living room anyway. The location was pretty convenient within access of a lot of different things. If you walk one to two blocks west, you reach some restaurants and stores. 2 blocks east and you can get to a very nice beach that we visited one morning. Adam was always quick to respond to any questions I had. Since the condo is on the end of the building, I feel like it offers a little more privacy and quiet from the rest of the condos in the complex. So yes, I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the Kihei area. It worked out great for our trip.

Nice kitchen appliances and modernized bath. No comfortable sitting in living room and worn out rug
There is one chair and a sofa that is in the living room. The other 6 chairs are counter high chairs, not made for comfortable sitting, but for eating at the high table or counter. The living room chair is in the corner behind the TV, has one sitting cushion that is well worn. The sofa is the most uncomfortable and is not fit to sit on. There is not any comfortable sitting in the condo. The area rugs are dirty and worn, the bath rugs are worn out and thread bare making the place look shabby and dirty. The condo has new appliances that are very nice but if you want to sit and visit with family or watch TV you better go out and find someplace comfortable to sit. The instruction binder on the coffee table in the living room needs to be up-dated with current information for TV operation and pool use. Pictures in their ad show a modern condo and it has been modernized but it isn't gorgeous.

Overall this place was awful. We spent as little time as possible there. Not enough space to list all the things wrong with this place. The furniture on the lanai uncomfortable and not as pictured, screens broken, deck on a slant towards the ground. Neighbors were not there thankfully-no privacy on deck. The stairs are extremely steep, the building is at a busy intersection and there are no grounds to speak of. The pool overlooks the street, chairs uncomfortable, plastic, old. The place was gross and dirty. Floors sandy, (and you are asked to hose down in the parking lot after the beach) Kitchen dirty, fridge smells bad-appliances not in good shape-no cleaning products. We had to conserve tp and paper towels or buy them. Shower head clogged -barely spits out water, washing machine has BLACK MOLD! (owner said "that happens in Hawaii" No it should not!) Hair and dirty water in washer. Extra linens in closet unusable-dirty & stained. Hair in the bed! No cleaning products of any kind! The chairs at the table are ripped and worn, the sofa bed is very worn and has a huge dip in one side. You need to drive everywhere. Beach is a 10 minute schlep with all your stuff. The close ocean front is grass not beach. Go elsewhere!!! No way this is new and definitely not gorgeous! Have pics & wish I could share all evidence. Called owner he basically said we were lying then stopped responding. VRBO/travelocity do nothing-hard to reach. Nightmare! Will never use these companies again.

Lovely place to stay
We've stayed at the Shores of Maui before. We love the location as it is ideally situated within easy walking distance of Kihei's beautiful beaches and best restaurants. Unit 225 is an especially nice condo. It is big, clean, and beautifully decorated. There are double sinks in the bathroom with plenty of counter and drawer space for your toiletries. The bedroom is spacious and the bed is very comfortable. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkels, and other gear for your beach days. One of the nicest features is that there are two (two!) air conditioners, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, which keep the condo quite comfortable. The cons to this unit are few. As another review noted, the sofa is uncomfortable for sitting. It is, however, quite nice for stretching out for a nap. (We didn't try the pull-out, so can't comment on how it is for sleeping.) And yes, one of the lanai chairs still needs to have the woven material rewrapped. (Additionally, the two chairs on the lanai are of different heights, which we found a bit awkward.) There is an ocean view, but it is partially obscured by trees across the street. Still, it is possible to see waves rolling in and paddle boarders at Cove Park. South Kihei Drive is busy and noisy, and since most condominium complexes are right on the street it is almost impossible to get away from the noise. The good news, though, is that traffic gets much lighter after dark and the bedroom, being at the back of the unit, stays quiet through the night. We did have to contend with construction noise from the new complex being built across from the Shores of Maui parking lot. During our two-week stay there was heavy equipment operating on all but two days. But the parking lot has been poured and it looks like they are very close to moving into interior finishing. There is also work being done on the culvert next to the complex. The crews start work at about 7 a.m., so if you are planning to visit in May or June of 2019 and are hoping to sleep in, you might want to bring ear plugs. Aside from these small inconveniences, we very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return to this unit on our next visit.

Our second time at this condo...great location to walk to restaurants shops and even grocery if wanted to. Across from Cove Park and easy 5-10minute drive to Wailea. Will stay here again with side windows and patio that lols to Haleauka and ocean.

Condo is lovely... as described in VRBO description and reviews. Kitchen equipped well.... comfortable bed ... great bathroom... lovely Deck and view. Pool and spa were awesome.... Parking always available close to unit. Located in prime Kihei... steps to Maui Gardens (food trucks, retail and entertainment) great restaurants, bars and grocery shopping within walking distance. Cove beach right across the street and other quality beaches very close. Area has lots independent vacation rentals ... great stay wouldn't hesitate to return.
