"Although the staff we encountered were fine and the lake view is beautiful, the condition of the "cottage" we stayed in was terrible. It had not been renovated and apparently not recently occupied. It had cobwebs, spiders and bugs (some should be expected given its location) and the walls and floor were quite dirty. The rate was what would be expected at a five-star resort, which this is not. "Incorrectly booked another hotel for the wrong night. Cora took us in last minute and was gracious to all of us, even making up a second bed last minute and bringing milk for evening tea. The kids enjoyed the large projection screen and the swingset outside. We couldn't get enough of the view and the beautiful decor. Very well kept and loved by the owner. The biggest dissappontment is the Riverside Grill restaurant attached to the hotel.The staff are great and the food good.but it seems every time we go there the menu choices are less and less for more cost."
