Large Charming House in Historic Downtown Jackson: Explore Haunted Delights

Welcome to Bethany's Home Sweet Haunted Home, a truly enchanting short term vacation experience nestled in the heart of downtown Jackson, California. This haunted abode, built in 1877, invites adventurous souls to step back in time and immerse themselves in the rich history of both the gold country and wine country.

As you enter Bethany's, you'll be captivated by its charm and striking presence. From the creaking floorboards to the antique décor, every inch of this haunted home exudes an undeniable aura of mystery and intrigue. Its warm, golden hues reflect the golden spirit that once filled the streets of Jackson during the vibrant Gold Rush.

Once inside, the true allure of this haunted haven becomes apparent. Bethany's features a thoughtfully curated interior that seamlessly blends old-world charm with a touch of supernatural mystery. The carefully preserved antique furniture, vintage decor, and the four elegantly appointed bedrooms and two baths, provide ample space for you and your fellow travelers to unwind and relax.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this extraordinary property is the presence of friendly spirits. The resident ghosts, whose history intertwines with the house, are known to make their presence felt. Whether it's a misbehaving light or footsteps down the hall, these ethereal beings are willing to communicate with those who seek their company. However, rest assured that if you prefer a more serene experience, the ghosts will respect your desire for solitude and allow you to enjoy your stay undisturbed.

Despite its otherworldly inhabitants, Bethany's ensures modern amenities for a comfortable stay. WiFi, Central Heat and Air and the stocked kitchen discreetly blends with the vintage ambiance, ensuring you have all the conveniences of the present while basking in the charm of the past.

However, it's important to note that due to its historic nature and unique ambiance, Bethany's Home Sweet Haunted Home may not be suitable for small children or individuals with mobility issues. The age and design of the house may present challenges for those who require specific accessibility features.

As you step out of Bethany's Home Sweet Haunted Home, you'll find yourself in downtown Jackson, where you can explore the vibrant local scene, including boutique shops, antique stores, and delicious dining options. Additionally, the region's renowned gold country and wine country offer a multitude of activities, from gold panning and historical tours to wine tasting and vineyard visits.

Whether you're an adventure seeker, a history enthusiast, or simply looking for a memorable getaway, Bethany's Home Sweet Haunted Home invites you to step back in time and immerse yourself in the fascinating past of Jackson, CA. Also, you definitely need to see our Halloween and Christmas decor as we love holidays around here!

Overall okay
The property is charming and as stated in the listing. the main issue were ants throughout, which should have been sprayed for or notify us that we would need to spray. Elsie is very responsive to any needs or questions.

FANTASTIC HOME
We so enjoyed our stay! The house did not disappoint! Not only was it immaculate, it was decorated for Christmas. There were treats in the kitchen, a full hot cocoa bar and all the makings for a delicious cup of cider, tea or coffee. Although there is definitely a spooky ambiance, we did not experience anything out of the ordinary. 10 out 10; would stay again. Thank you Elsie, you were an amazing host!

While a little creepy with the tales of ghosts and matching decor the house was very well maintained and extremely clean. Great walking distance to old town Jackson with bars and restaurants. Host was amazing and very communicative. We would stay here again for sure. Thank you!

The perfect place to stay for a summer reading retreat
We have absolutely nothing but love for this haunted humble abode. The house itself is charming and welcoming, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning is cool throughout the house. Elsie’s personal touches make the rental feel like a cozy home away from home . The memories we made during our stay will last a lifetime! I can’t recommend this property enough!!

A True Historic Jackson Gem
Everything that you look for in a historic, antique, (haunted), house - this place has. It is absolutely gorgeous and mystifying, and Elsie made the entire process smooth and seamless. Very attentive to guests and the house, and the property is literally 2 blocks walk away from historic downtown Jackson. The kitchen has absolutely everything you could need, including Keurig, hot cocoa bar, wine glass and bottle openers in addition to a complete set of cookware, dishes and utensils - as well as recommendations for local eateries and places to visit. The library is a wondrous place to relax and wind-down, and the living room has 3 full dresser drawers of board games and party games, some never even opened. This place is a treasure, and we will definitely be back.

Loved our stay in Jackson!
This house is incredible! I would give it 10 stars if I could. It is beautiful, exceptionally clean, stocked with everything you could ever need, and beautifully spooky! The house is only a block to antique stores and wonderful restaurants! If you ever get the chance you should take a trip to Jackson and stay in the house. I never wanted to leave.

Beautifully appointed house in a great location
I stayed here one night for a quick birthday girls' trip with my sister and our friend. We were so impressed by how beautiful this house is, everything is meticulously put together but it has a cozy, lived in feeling that's perfect for Autumn nights. It was such a treat to stay here during Halloween season and have the cute/spooky decorations up! The kitchen is well stocked, the bathrooms are really nicely recently redone, the beds are extremely comfortable. This was a perfect place to kickback after a day of wine tasting and exploring the charming Jackson main street. Rosebud's cafe was a standout for brunch! My group likes to be in a location that's walkable, so it was great for us that there are quite a few restaurants and a grocery store within a short walk. It was a luxurious space for the three of us, but would definitely be comfortable for a larger group. Elsie is a wonderful host, she's super communicative and readily provides helpful tips for enjoying your stay in the area - the guestbook was especially impressive! We hope to be back!

We had a lovely stay!
Really, really good experience! Elsie, the property owner, is so so nice and super responsive, which was incredibly helpful when I was bringing my 4 kids to the house on a last-minute snow trip. We had a lot of fun playing the board games with our older kids and had a lovely bonding experience at the house. The place is enormous - the photos don't do it justice. There is a really cool library of books that my kids enjoyed. The kitchen was well-stocked and Elsie left a wonderful basket of snacks, which my kids were super excited to try. (Pop-tarts at 10pm - yay!)
