"Great place for families visiting Shimoda and Izu Peninsula. Definitely a hotel catering to Japanese tourists, but with a little Japanese and respect the staff is very friendly and works with you. Some of the staff spoke some English. Bathhouse, arcade, and hotel amenities were great. Walking distance to everything downtown and easy spot to drive to other locations. Would definitely stay here again with family on vacation. "

"As a young Canadian couple, we definitely felt the mood was a little old-school and maybe not as warm as anticipated. Nothing was wrong with our stay, it simply didn’t feel as cool or luxurious as we would have liked. Also, very few foreigners were staying at the hotel. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the private tatami room and private onsen bath with a great view on Ito Be careful: guest with tattoos can’t access the communal onsen."

"So the few things I did not like where the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, the onsen water was hot enough to burn me (the rock onsen at the bottom) and the pool closed SOOOO early that we didn’t get to experience it at all. I paid a lot of money for that hotel and then didn’t even get to experience the pool. But the staff was very accommodating and made great efforts to speak English to us. "

"I like place.it is convient,7/11 and drug store is near.you walk along beach.the air is fresh.the staff is very friendly.the room is clean texcept bathroom,it is clean but they have to clean the molds in the bathroom and there are no slipper in the roon.But the place is very good i will return and recommend to my friends"

"What an amazing ryokan with such supportive staff and amazing chef! Their gardens are magical and their rooms are super modern, clean and authentic to traditional ryokans. Loved our stay and loved the proximity to Shuzenji’s main village. A hidden gem in the Izu prefecture. Highly recommended!"

"This Ryokan was amazing. The staff were welcoming and gracious. The rooms are huge and traditional japanese style with futons and tatami mats. Each room had its own separate hot spring bath as well as separate men's and women's shared baths. The food was delicious and filling. It is located in a great small town nestled in a mountain valley. A quiet respite from the big city. Would definitely stay again! "

"Great inn in Izu Kogen. Good food, welcoming staff, nice baths, large rooms, and lots of activities (e.g. pottery making, etc.). Only suggestion would be that a few parts of the inn need a very small amount of maintenance. Highly recommend."

"This is a great value property close to Shimoda and the railway station. All rooms are slightly different in layout and are very comfortable and beautifully decorated. "Beautiful traditional Ryokan experience. Staff were absolutely a highlight, especially the manager who even gave us a ride to the station after our stay. "A great location right on the lake in Hakone. Although it looked to be fully booked we did not see other guests and it was lovely and peaceful. We stayed for 3 nights and were fortunate to see Mt Fuji for two days of our stay. The onsen in the room was amazing, we used it twice a day or more, so relaxing.
