"We really enjoyed our stay at Kona Reef. We lucked out and had a third floor unit with an amazing view (there are a few units without a good view) that made it for us. Quiet, clean, and the staff was very friendly and responsive. "

"This was the perfect location for our stay. We were a 1 mile drive from Magic Sands Beach and 1 mile drive to local shopping, dinning and entertainment! While we chose to drive everywhere, the location is totally walkable to all the attractions. Also, before booking I read reviews, and apparently other condos do not have AC. This one DOES have AC. Condo, 1 Bedroom, Ocean View | View from room

"Property itself was very nice but the unit was older and was in need of some updates and repairs; cupboard doors did not close properly, stains and tears on sectional, ice maker broken on fridge etc… Also found nail clippings on the bathroom floor. Minor things, the pools and grounds were very nice though and we spent more time outside anyways."

"It’s a ground floor unit but a short walk for coffee in the cabana overlooking the ocean. The unit itself is wonderful, upgraded and clean. It has everything needed to be comfortable and enjoyable."

"1. The location is literally on the shoreline with continuous surf and great sunsets. No road/car noise with golf fairway on 1 side and the shoreline on the other side of building. 2. Very tastefully remodeled and furnished. Great beds. 3. On-shore breeze and multiple ceiling fans kept the apartment comfortable. 4. Well equipped with dishes, pans and small appliances. 5. The only deficiency was the lanai ceiling fan did not work. Knutson said they would address after our departure. "

"Place was not cleaned before we arrived due to a miscommunication between the property owner and his cleaning person. Was taken care of but it took a decent amount of trying to get a hold of anyone to get the issue resolved. Room itself was good and everything worked, except for the TV. Overall, it's a good spot as long as you don't really plan on doing much at the place you are staying besides eating breakfast and sleeping. Great location to walk to a ton of restaurants in Kona."

"My family and I loved staying at this condo. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking diverse meals, the beach supplies got much use, and the location right on the ocean was excellent. Convenient and ample parking in a garage below the condos was a nice surprise as well!"

"Great quiet condo with wonderful amenities and excellent location. Condo was very clean and well-stocked for our needs. All instructions were very clear and helpful. Two nice pools (one saltwater on the ocean) and a great beach to chill on under the palm trees. Great outdoor lanai dining area and built in couch. Would stay again as a couple as there is only one bedroom*. Amazing property!"

"We were really happy with the condo. The location is great. Really close to town (3min) walk). The unit itself is on the corner and has good size balcony with a partial ocean view. I loved sitting outside in the evenings with a glass of wine watching the sunset. The pool is very close which is convenient but maybe in summer this might be more noisy. "Property management company kept in contact with us as we checked in late. They were quick to respond to any questions and concerns. The condo was spacious and clean. We loved the mid-century modern furnishings. The building was in a safe and quiet area, close to downtown Hilo. We loved waking up to the sounds of the local birds in the park behind us. We would definitely stay here again. "

"The location is just a few miles from the downtown walking area with lots of shops and restaurants along the ocean. The master bedroom is huge with an amazing view and wish we had more time to hang out on the deck! Love that there were lots of beach towels and chairs etc to use. Little tricky to use the gate as it’s close to the road and you have to get out of your vehicle to enter the code to open. So nice to have a kitchen and laundry too! "

"No prior communication regarding the lack of air conditioning and the need to pay a fee to have a bedroom ac unit connected. The room was in excess of 80 degrees at 9:30 pm. No elevator for the third floor unit. The setting and view was outstanding. "
