Peaceful home in the woods, Saugatuck Township

Nicely appointed two bedroom home with a spa like atmosphere. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of beautiful wooded surroundings, while being just steps from Lake Michigan and a short distance from all the attractions. Watch the sunset with a picnic or beverage from Sundown Park at the end of the lane. Dine alfresco on the patio around the firepit, relax with a massage and soak in the hot tub , or enjoy a night of karaoke or a movie in the entertainment room.

Douglas/Saugatuck are just a few minutes up the road, and it is a straight line down hwy 89 to Fennville, wineries, Crane's orchard, and great antiquing. Nature activities are in abundance...Hiking, beaches, Sunsets, Skiing, or just viewing. Enjoy a trip to local farms and wineries, then grab the backpack in the house, and enjoy the Sunset from the beach with a picnic!

There are two bedrooms, one with a King sized bed, the other a queen. There is a pull out sofa in the dining/sitting room.
Both bathrooms have radiant heat flooring, and one is equipped with a steam shower. The kitchen is well appointed and there is plenty of room to gather.

The home is accessed by a keyless entry. There is an exterior security camera which guests can unplug upon their arrival.

We reside in a home to the rear of the property, through the woods. But you are completely private.

We do not discriminate, all are welcome, including your fur babies! There are friendly neighborhood pets around.

This house offers the cozy feel of home, the beauty of the woods, the view of Lake Michigan at the end of the lane, and beach access a short bike ride or walk away (Pier Cove beach is about a mile down the road. Several other Beaches are a short drive away...Oval Beach, Glenn Beach, Douglas Beach and West Side County Park).

The house is best suited for couples, or 6 people total. We have a pull out sofa as well. Please do not bring extra guests without proper notification. The house is prepared for the number booked. Extra charges may apply.

Pets are welcome. Be advised we have no fence, and are in the woods. Please be assured of your Pets' manners in the home. Extra cleaning charge for pets is assessed.

Keep Coming Back
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve rented this property. It’s perfect for my semi-annual getaway with a friend - we each have our own bedroom and bathroom, it’s close to Lake Michigan, close to shopping and restaurants, private and quiet. The owner is very friendly and communicative. Highly recommend!

Wish We Could Stay More Often

Spacious, chic and well appointed
This property has everything for a fun time. Nice location in a quiet area but just a mile to the beach and ~15 minutes to downtown Douglas/Saugatuck. Love the big kitchen and entertainment room for hanging out. Great communication with the hosts before, during and after our stay. Comfortable beds. And the heated toilet seats and bidets were next level!

Very Peaceful
This place was great! We really enjoyed all of the relaxing features of the house. My husband and I came here on a babymoon, and we spent the days lounging in the hot tub, watching movies using the nice TV & surround sound, and listening to records. It was a perfect getaway.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet and tranquil getaway that's a very short drive away from a nice beach. The house has everything you need and also many things you don't but are really nice to have!! Peaceful Journey lives up to it's name 100%!

Paradise in the woods
Ann and Rick's home-away-from-home made our first Michigan vacay definitely not our last! Their rental is even better than described. And the location couldn't be better! We were able to easily visit Saugatuck, Douglas, Oval Beach, South Haven, and Holland during our stay. Plus being able take a short walk down their street to catch a couple of beautiful sunsets was such an awesome perk! We can't recommend Peaceful Journey enough and will definitely be back. Ann even leaves a thoughtful candle as a welcome gift! 10/10 all around!

Girls getaway
Property was clean and as advertised. Ann made checking in and out a breeze, which is appreciated. The house was equipped with everything you could need, while away from home. The book of information and tips about the area was extremely helpful. We enjoyed the wildlife and beautiful views. We had the opportunity to meet Ann and her husband and have some really nice conversations. The rock garden out front is a cool idea and we had fun adding to the collection. Being an animal lover, meeting their dogs Olivia and Frankie may have been the best part of my trip. Thank you for allowing us to get away and make memories at your property. Would recommend!

Simply the best time ever!
We have traveled much of the west coast of Michigan from South Haven to Harbor Springs and this is the nicest trip we have ever had. Absolutely spotlessly clean we more amenities that could ever be used on a short 4 day stay. Ann and her husband are wonderful hosts with a beautiful property that anyone would enjoy staying at. From the well stocked kitchen, the wonderful bedrooms, the incredible bathrooms, the entertainment room, as well as the living room/dining room all with very comfortable appointments. I would be remiss to mention the spa room and the small park at the end of the street with the stunning view of Lake Michigan. Thank you Ann for sharing your wonderful home with us and we hope to return next year to this wonderful spot in Michigan.

If you enjoy the finer things, this is the place for you
I can't say enough about our stay. From the excellent communication with Ann before we arrived and all throughout the stay, to the impeccable accommodations - it was a wonderful vacation! Ann's thought of everything to make you feel like you're at a 5-star resort. A coffee bar, luxurious bedding (I don't think I've slept in a more comfortable bed while vacationing), bidets, steam shower, hot tub, etc. etc . The location is great - surrounded by million dollar homes and a great view of Lake Michigan at the end of the road. Quick drives to Douglas and Saugatuck. The only thing we could have done without were the mosquitos, but I know they sprayed before and while we were there - Michigan is just having a bad mosquito year. Stay here. You'll be glad you did!

Awesome Home !
We enjoyed our stay at Peaceful Home in the Woods. The house was super nice. It has lots of room to spread out. The seating area in the dining room was a nice quiet place to read while others were in the living room watching TV. The beds were very comfortable. We appreciated that the following were provided: shampoo, conditioner, coffee & creamer, tea, TP, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap. The house is exactly as described. We took advantage of the games/cards and Spotify music to enjoy our evenings. Ann was very nice and quickly solved an issue with the TV. She also thoughtfully left us breakfast goodies. We very much appreciated that we were able to check into the house early. The house affords easy access to I-196 so if you want to explore and see the sights, travel to Saugatuck, Holland, Grand Haven, South Haven is simple. So much to see and do.

Stunning Immaculate Home
This is by far the cleanest home we have ever stayed in. Which in a pandemic is comforting. When we arrived at the home it was exactly how it was described. Contactless entry, Google hub to turn on the lights, and did I mention how clean it was. The craftsmanship of the home is amazing and finishes are good quality. We didn’t cook but the appliances were very nice. Adorable coffee bar with many complimentary items. The kitchen had anything you could possibly need. The main bath had an amazing steam shower and a bidet toilet seat. The master bath also had a very nice spacious shower with another bidet toilets seat. The bidets were great touch as we have them in our home. The bedding was extremely luxurious, especially the master. I would love to find that comforter for my home. The entertainment room had a very comfortable couch and recliners. The room had instruments, music player, surround sound, karaoke machine, games and of course a curved TV. I wish the weather was warmer so we could have enjoyed the beautiful back patio which leads to the hot tub and massage room. The owner placed bikes outside for us to ride but it was to cold. The house is very close to Lake Michigan. There is a very nice beach a couple miles down the road which would be fantastic in the summer. We at least went and enjoyed the sunset with the very cool icy lake. My only complaint, if you could even call it that, was there is a park model camper trailer 200 ft from the house. They were quiet and no bother. Just a bit weird because it was so close. We very much enjoyed have such a nice house to call our home on a weekend that was way to short. Maybe next time we will have time to stay longer. Thank you so very much for share your home with us.

Amazing property!
Nice little property in the woods! It made for a wonderful time. Close to downtown Sagatuck and Douglas, nice quaint towns. Night time viewing of the stars were something we dont get much of in metro Detroit! Absolutely loved it!
