"We checked in at about 11PM, and I was worried that the front desk would not be happy about that. But our reception was as cordial and polite as could be. We chose this hotel for its proximity (walking distance) to Discovery Kingdom, but it has many other good things to offer. The heated pool and hot tub were both nice to enjoy after a long day of walking. And the excellent breakfast buffet was a great way to fuel up with a variety of options before heading out to the park. "Debbie" was in charge of the buffet during our stay, and she was an absolute delight to chat with -- so friendly and helpful! The only real problem we experienced was a guest smoking marijuana in the room next to ours on the last night of our 4-night stay. The odor was pretty strong in our wing of the hotel, so I'm sure other guests were inconvenienced by this, as well. The front desk offered to move us to a different room, but I graciously declined. I don't really consider this to be a downfall of the hotel -- more of a problem with society, I guess. By the way, Discovery Kingdom was practically deserted for the 4 days we went there. Every time we go there, I'm always thinking it will be the last time before it closes forever. But if we ever do go to DK again, we will definitely be staying at this Hampton Inn."
