"Great location, excellent property in general. Walking distance to many restaurants; we recommend ippokampos if you love seafood and sunsets and peskesi for a traditional Cretan meal! "The hotel itself was lovely. The rooms are well appointed, and they even gave us an upgrade at no additional charge, which was very much appreciated. The staff are all professional and friendly. The reason I gave four instead of five stars was for the tremendous construction noise that was right outside our window. It started very early in the morning. We would’ve appreciated having a heads up there was construction going onso that we could’ve chosen a room perhaps facing the opposite direction....

"We had a wonderful stay at the Rafkos mansion. Stelios the owner took us wherever we needed to go and we had delicious meals at one of the local restaurants. It would be wise to have a car because it’s in a village about 30mins. from Heraklion. Stelios is the definition of Greek hospitality! "
