60TH Anniversary stay
Overall, it was very nice. Beautiful view, wonderful weather for the coast. No cell service was a disappointment, but they had good Wi-Fi. Not able to get calls and receive them was not good as we had to go off the property to make calls.

Remote location sos
The house was fine but boring in my opinion. The location itself is very remote. Really not much to do other than a few hikes and coastline to view. The owners do a good job of pointing out the best places to visit. I used their recommendations and found that really every place is the same with the same view. The view at the house is pretty but in July the temperature is cold. High 60’s with sunshine. The house needs a hot tub or something to do rather than stare at the far away Pacific.

Very Relaxing Stay
We had a great time at the cottage. It was a rather quick getaway just two nights. The amenities are perfect for our stay. We made breakfast and dinner in the small kitchen. The bed is very comfortable. We really enjoyed being outside on the deck. The water view is beautiful and hearing the sea lions barking was a fun treat.

Return visit
This was my second visit to this lovely cabin. As a solo adventurer, I appreciate that I feel safe and cozy here. As last time, the cabin was sparkling clean when I arrived. Best things for me are the sunny deck, the ocean view, the peace and quiet and the great location.

Simple and Quiet
This little house sits on the hill across Hwy 1 facing the ocean. There is another larger rental just above, but both are fairly secluded from one another. The house itself is immaculately clean. The kitchen is functional, but definitely bare bones. The non-stick frying pan could stand to be replaced, it's pretty beat up. The bathroom shower is quite small, but has great water pressure, and the water heats up quickly. The bed is pretty firm, even with the topper. The notes left by the owner were great, offering places to see, restaurants to eat at, where to get coffee, etc. Overall we had a nice time here.

Lovely.
Upon arrival, the hummingbirds were busy in the blooming Mexican sage and rock roses. Such a welcoming entry. Inside, the house is exactly as pictured and described. The "fireplace" space heaters effectively warm. The kitchen had all we needed. Very clean. The view is gorgeous. The "amenities" on the listing included games, books, and coin laundry - none of which we found there - but we did not miss them. Every item in the house has been thought out and deliberately placed.

Beautiful little house. Pictures overstated the view
Nice property. Couldn't wear shoes in the house but there was no place to put our shoes outside and keep them dry. The pictures online overstayed the view and access to the ocean. Thoroughly enjoyed Northern California and the house met our needs....relaxing.

Great Gualala Getaway!
This rental was so cute, nicely updated, ocean views, super clean. It was close to all the activites we wanted to do, hiking at Gualala Rgional Park, Cooks Beach, fun flea market on Saturday, crabbing at Point Arena Pier. We would highly recommend this adorable rental cottage!!!!!

Great central location
This was a father son trip. Tons of beaches north and south. Redwood state parks, 3, within 1.5 hours drive. Wine tasting along the way back. There are some really good restaurants and some really expensive restaurants. Our fav turned out to be the Crab Shack in Gualala. Relatively inexpensive, well made, tasty, food. Great clam chowder. I got the bedroom my son slept on the pullout. He said that it was the most comfortable pull out he has slept on and he has slept on many. This home is clean and fairly well appointed. Only wish is a grill for BBQ. Great sun sets on the porch and listening to the seals on the Natural Reserve beach (you can’t go there) right across the road. I would definitely recommend this home to a couple or small family.

Happy at High Tor Lower House
The property has all the amenities a couple staying in this area would need. It is updated and clean and has a beautiful view. It is also quiet. From here it was easy to get to all the highlights of the area. When giving directions you might want to mention that the property is about 6 miles north of Gualala. Those not familiar with the area might think they missed the location once they passed Anchor Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Beautiful location surrounded by nature
Outstanding view from a cozy nest! Birds on the property included Hairy Woodpecker, Spotted Towhee, Mockingbird, Western Bluebird, Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Robin, Flicker, Red-Tailed Hawk (which visited several perches repeatedly) — and across Hwy 1, a Kestrel, Turkey Vultures swirling over the ocean — and one morning a Bald Eagle powered past heading north. An adjacent road allows a walk up into the forest. Anchor Bay Thai and Trinks in Gualala are just a few minutes away by car. Gualala Arts Center is always a pleasure — the art (indoors and out) and walking the grounds above the Gualala River. We look forward to returning to High Tor! (They have a larger house on the same property, and then an even bigger house with hot tub on their neighboring property.) (We had no cell reception and intermittent internet and text.)

Beach getaway
Really loved the cabin and location, clean fresh and very inviting! Only additions to what we experienced could be better linens, the sheets were scratchy and the towels weren’t the most absorbent, especially the kitchen towels. We also felt there could have been more options in the kitchen as we normally provide our own meals. Service for two doesn’t cover serving and preparing needs, and we had very limited bake/cook ware. Clean up from cooking was difficult as there was only a sponge without any scouring ability and I don’t like to leave anything not usable for the next guest. Overall we felt the cabin was lovely, these are the additions we felt would enhance the experience.

Our stay was great.
Place was very clean and a great location. Went to Bowling ball beach. Point Arena lighthouse had beautiful scenery. The sunsets from the deck at our place was perfect. We did a couple hikes at Gulala and salt point park. Went to Navarro vineyard in the Anderson valley a little more than an journey away. We really enjoyed our stay.
