"Our stay at 1661 was the perfect location for us to attend a wedding, walk into town, visit their farm & animals, enjoy daily wine & nibbles and breakfast coffee & muffins. We also had 2 opportunities to enjoy the breakfast buffet and both mornings had delicious offerings with home-grown veggies & fresh flowers. "It was a GREAT location, one of only two hotels on Ocean Drive. the grounds were amazing. The building is falling apart a little, there is deferred maintenance, but the room was clean, the staff was Wonderful. we had a view of the ocean, the hot tub was hot, the coffee and breakfast muffins were great. It is what it is and there is SO much to see in Newport that you shouldnt be spending much time in the room. "
