TLDR: great all around.
This yurt was cleaner, more comfortable, and more charming than the cabins in the area we've stayed in.
It was quite hot and humid when we stayed, but there's powerful (and quiet) AC to keep it cool and comfortable.
It's isolated and private in a pretty field with a great view of the Shawgunks and beautiful sunsets.
Waiting for us inside was granola, yogurt, and other goodies. There's an outdoor "kitchen" with sink, gas grill with side burner. The bathroom is spotlessly clean and has the upscale feel of what you'd find in a nice hotel.
I don't like the term "glamping" but this would be it.
It's location is excellent - we stayed with our 3 year old son and had a lovely time hiking and swimming in the gorgeous Mohonk preserve only a few minutes away.
John was an attentive and responsive host, answering all my questions before booking and then graciously helping with a couple of small requests during our stay.
Why wouldn't you stay here? Maybe if you have teenagers and need privacy. It's perfect for couples, and couples with a young kids. Maybe if you need more of full kitchen and don't want to cook outdoors.
For us it was idyllic and we look forward to coming back!
