2/2 Funky Pirate; 3 pools, ocean views across from beach, Maravilla

Two bedroom two bath condo with washer/dryer INSIDE the unit. The funky pirate is Located at the Maravilla which features 3 pools and hot tub. One pool is heated, a large tropical pool with an island and cabana, and a small infinity pool. The heated pool is great to use even In the wintertime. Also located right across from the beach!

The Complex has a workout room and both pools have barbecue pits to use first come.

This condo has a huge corner front balcony with a view of Moody Gardens and the bay. It also has a back balcony with a view of the heated pool.

The condo has a tv in both bedrooms. The master has a queen bed with a tub/shower combination. The guest room has a king bed and a Day bed that pulls out. The couch also folds out in the living room to sleep a total of 8. The guest bath also has a tub shower combination.

The building requires all guests to get a parking pass for $10/day when you arrive. Maxed at $70. If you dont have a vehicle, you may be charged $10 for pool bands.

Mini golf and go carts are right next door. Enjoy Moody Gardens and the strand. Just a short ride away.

We are pet friendly with a non refundable pet fee. Please send your breed type and details when requesting a booking. If you book without paying the pet fee at the time of booking, you won't be allowed to stay upon arrival. There is also a dog park and a dog shower! Note that the main pool is under maintenance until March.the heated pool is still open.

One little hiccup at arrival with the code to the door at it being late. Realized the next day 3 codes in the description and one worked! Yay. Our call was answered and we got in. Property was clean and served to the purpose of our short stay before a cruise.

The condo itself it great, when pulling in the front I guess is under construction, not sure but I wish I would have known as I probably would not have stayed. Blonde we arrived Friday night someone come knocking on our door stating we were being too loud. We had just arrived.

Some concerns
The property is undergoing renovations, office is in a diff location and they aren’t super friendly. Then we were asked if unit could be shown to potential buyers during our stay. The owner didn’t follow through with showing unit but it made us question our privacy and was a bit snarky with her replies as we were told “is it ok if someone comes to look at the unit at 4pm?” I had no clue who, or why, then I find out it’s being sold. The owner was sure to make us feel bad and tell us if she was the renter she’d have no issues letting the unit be shown…well, I’m renting it and paying for it so I feel like it could wait? She made sure to inform me that as the realtor of the property she can enter at anytime…The unit wasn’t super clean but we tried to overlook the small stuff. The condo is super decorated but also…super dusty. The king bed is 2 twins pushed together so you feel a seam. We had told the owner of a very unpleasant smelll of musty/cat pee smell upon arrival. Her solution was air fresheners. Despite telling her we were just letting her know, she said her housekeeper would be by with air freshener and check the ac drain pan. She never showed, we found out Sat that apparently she had a flat tire Friday and didn’t make it. She came sometime Sat morning while we were out. There are light fixture covers missing, there were left over popcicles in the freezer and overall cleanliness wasn’t there. Had to fill hall toilet with extra water to flush, and it just kept running.

The place was beautiful and comfortable. I would definitely stay again. Person above us walked around a lot and made stomping noises but was quiet from 11 pm til 7 am at least. That was the only complaint I had.

The property needed some TLC. Missing fixture covers, missing lightbulbs, filthy vents, running toilet, dripping faucets. The “king bed” is not a king - it’s two twins. No usable closets. Curtains in bedrooms didn’t block light. And yes there were roaches. Location is great.

Awesome place, but staff could be friendlier.
It was great.....the check in lady was ok but a bit ummmm unfriendly, i guess. And they said the pool bar was open but there eas no one there working it. That would of been a big plus. Overall we were very satisfied.

The condo itself is clean and as described. Manager/Host responds quickly. The front building of the complex facing the seawall when you drive up is going through a renovation so has a fence and is closed. Was surprised when drove up. The property and grounds could use some updates and is a little worn. Elevators very slow. Overall was nice though and each unit is independently owned so each unit could be different. Unit is facing the heated pool (smaller pool) not the main pool area.

Perfect for short Galveston stays!
We were coming into town for a cruise leaving the next day. Samantha was so accommodating working with us on our check in and out times. The condo is cute and clean. The property could use some upkeep, but other all the pools were nice. You do have to pay the $10 per day to use the pools even if you don’t park a car. My only suggestion would be to have some sort of pack n play for infants. We would absolutely stay here again!

We were looking for a place to stay for 7 of us for a single night before leaving for a cruise. This was so much better than getting multiple hotel rooms. The place was clean, the pools were great, and the location was close to everything we needed. Samantha was quick to respond to any of my questions.

Family get away.
This is a very nice condo that’s, nicely decorated and in a good location. The property manager was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Galveston area.

The heated pool was amazing at this time of year. The condo was well decoratedand very vacation cozy. It had plenty of room for 7 guests. The balcony was awesome with a view and my 3 year old granddaughter was very safe out there and was able to go from living room to our bedroom and around without any danger. Definitely recommend this location and the communication from owner was amazing and answered all our questions. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Fun condo! Great location!
We enjoyed our stay at the funky pirate! There were a few problems, but nothing that affected our stay. Was so hot outside that the vent in the guest room was dripping condensation. Our first night there was difficult not because of the space, but because of the people above us. They left a couple of dogs upstairs for long periods of time, and they paced and barked until about 1 o’clock in the morning. Samantha was super helpful each time we called and it was very responsive. Overall we had a great stay.
