"I came in late night after 2 flights and dead to the world and the young gentleman that checked me in was so pleasant that even with all my travel grumpiness, I had to reset and appreciate seeing great customer service. Unfortunately, it is more and more rare to see someone striving for excellence in the customer service industry. I don’t care why he is/was; if he is striving for a promotion or wants to have his own hotel someday possibly. "This place is a hidden gem. We stayed here when visiting for the Texas state fair and also seeing PBR at the stockyards. Yes it’s a drive from both of those but the surrounding area, views, comfort and value of the hotel beat the socks off anything else in an hour radius of the state fair. It’s an older hotel but well maintained. The pool and lounge beds were great."
