Apt in lush gardens, large pool, steps from the sea, stroll to Campello beach

25 minutes drive north of Alicante airport is the fishing village of El Campello. Our apartment is on the very outskirts of this village -just past an ancient watchtower and an archaeological dig - in an established residential area with the sea in front and villas and mountains behind. It is a secure, gated community with a large shared pool and lovely gardens full of trees and flowers looked after by our gardener. The architecture is Moorish - white walls, red tiled roofs, and the apartments are designed so that we all have beautiful views onto the gardens, pool and to the sea, but do not overlook each other. The buildings are only 3 stories high and are long established. You can stroll in minutes to the centre of Campello or to the tram stop - you don't need a car, but we are away from the noise and bustle - a perfect location. But if you do come by car, we have secure gated parking.

The apartment is reached via stairs outside to the first floor. There is an open lounge/diner downstairs, that opens onto a terrace. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a terrace, and the bathroom. (There is a downstairs toilet).

We have air conditioning units in the bedrooms that have cold air for the summer and warm air for the cooler months. There are ceiling fans for those who do not like air conditioning. Downstairs for the winter months, there are radiators, and a fake wood burning stove in the fireplace, and we put out the rugs and go from cool to cosy - so whatever time of the year you stay, you will be comfortable.

Lovely, quiet apartment in shaded gardens and warm pool
The apartment is 5 minutes walk from the tram station which is around 25 minutes from Alicante. The apartment was clean with spotless linen and towels. Added bonus is the beach towels and beach equipment. There is a small beach a few minutes walk from the apartment. El Campello beach is 15 minutes down the hill. Area was very quiet and gated complex lovely. The gardens were shady and not busy and the pool was lovely and warm. Getting to the supermarket was a 15 minute walk. The shopping trolley was a god send but it was hard work going back to the apartment up the hill in the heat! Overall relaxing family holiday with everything we needed

Very good.
The photographs, introduction and comments of previous reviews describe this apartment very well. Found everything very clean, comfortable lounge, well decorated, bright, good storage space. The living area is a good size and comfortable, with a television and good wi-fi connection. Two good sized bedrooms, the main bed was comfortable, bedding and towels very clean. There is a good selection of utensils in kitchen and also a cafetiere, not always found in rental apartments for some reason. All items used were in good condition and worked correctly. There are very quiet ceiling mounted fans excellent for warm evenings, we did not use the air conditioning. Access to the complex is easy, always found a convenient place to park the car. The excellent large communal pool was kept clean, water warm and never busy during our visit. The nearest beach is Playa de la Almadraba, a five minute walk, not busy, a mix of fine gravel and sand, clear water and safe for swimming, main beach in El Campello it is wide with clean fine sand. With a tram to Alicante and then on further, a car is not essential. El Campello provides good selection of amenities within walking distance, and a wide selection of bars, cafeterias, restaurants and shops. Thank you Wendy for a great stay. Other rental owners could take a few tips from here!

Can’t wait to come back!
This is a wonderful place to stay! Quiet neighborhood, inside a gated community with a lovely pool and courtyard area. The home is pretty and comfortable - stocked with just about anything you could want including all beach gear, kitchen supplies, and extra bedding. There are books to read, DVD’s to watch - a real retreat. Wendy, our host, was exceptionally helpful and available. I’d also put in a good word for the location. It’s just a few minutes walk from a fantastic tram that can run you right over to the larger El Campello beach or take you into Alicante. We spent a little time in Alicante and were relieved to come back to the more mellow El Campello. There’s also a very small neighborhood beach just around the corner that’s especially good for watching the water at night, just a few minutes from home. We loved staying here and hope to come back in the future!

Fabulous stay over the New Year
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here over the New Year. Wendy, the owner was very easy to contact and extremely helpful in organising our transfer from the airport to the apartment. The apartment was very well equipped throughout and the beds were particularly comfortable. The weather was lovely for the time of year and there were radiators downstairs in the apartment which created a really cosy room in the cooler evenings. The location is superb, very peaceful and an easy stroll to the centre of El Campello which has a wide variety of restaurants and shops. The tram stop, for trips North towards Benidorm and Denia or South towards Alicante, is only a five minute walk away. The trams were efficient and excellent value. Thank you so much Wendy. If we return to the area we would certainly love to stay here again.

Fab apartment close to local beaches with huge communal pool
Couldn’t really fault this property and i’ve done a lot of rentals. It was easy to access, very well-equipped (no trying to manage on just one pan or having to scrabble about for cooking utensils), clean, in a quiet but friendly complex and a short walk from the local beach in El Campello where there are restaurants and shops aplenty. Had a thoroughly relaxing stay and enjoyed both the pool and the sea. Owner friendly and on hand if any issues.

Beautiful spot
Really enjoyed my stay here with my husband and young kids. Wendy was very helpful and obliging and provided lots of information throughout our stay. The apartment was clean, cozy and inviting and had everything we needed. Having beach towels, beach toys and hats was a bonus and the large wheeled trolley for shopping was invaluable for the 10/15 minute walk to the beach/shop. We loved the terrace and balcony and the wonderful views from both bedrooms, the only thing missing was a table from the balcony upstairs. The tram was also very handy for trips up or down the coast, very inexpensive and only 5 minutes walk from the apartment. The complex itself was very quiet and peaceful and we really enjoyed the 2 pools which luckily had warmed up by the end of May. It would have been perfect if there was a shop or bar onsite but there is a restaurant at the entrance to the complex which looks to be re-opening after covid. El Campello is a beautiful place to stay with plenty of beaches, shops, cafes and restuarants to choose from without it being too crowded or busy and is also a good base to explore the region. Would highly recommend both this apartment and it's location, many thanks to Wendy for a wonderful stay.

Exactly as described
An extremely well equipped apartment in an older non -pretentious development that is in an excellent location for accessing the beach and town of El Compello and the wider area by the fantastic tram that runs from Alicante up to Denia. Everything about the apartment and its location (including not needing a car) is exactly as described and the arrangements for check in and check out are easy. We've bookmarked it for a return trip.

Very nice apartment with very nice views of the gardens/sea from both balconies. We used the balcony from the bedroom alot once our baby was sleeping. Really handy for the tram to Alicante city and Benidorm, beach at El Campello 10 min stroll. If your after the buzz of Alicante and Benidorm but also like the quiet beach life then can recommend this area. The owner of the property went above and beyond with advice and information which meant we hit the ground running and they were always on the phone if i needed any questions answered.

Lovely apartment with excellent pool.
The holiday was most enjoyable and the apartment was lovely. Airport transfers were organised by Wendy the owner. John and Yvonne who manage the property for her picked us up and gave us all the local information. They were most helpful in setting our holiday off to a good start. El Campello is a beautiful fishing village ideal for families with a seafront full of shops, restaurants and bars and a golden sandy beach. We used the small beach which is a 5 minute walk away from the apartment mostly which for our little one was ideal to play in the shallow waves and our older daughter to have a swim in the clear sea. We would not hesitate to recommend the apartment or Wendy’s professional manner in dealing with our holiday accommodation. Once again to Wendy, John and Yvonne a big Thankyou for a most enjoyable break.

Our second visit and we were not disapponted, enhanced with wall to wall sunshine. The property offers comfortable accomodation with the advantage of two pools on site, in walking distance of the town, beach and the superb tram service.

Have stayed at Wendy's on many occasions and always have a lovely holiday. The apartment is very handy for non drivers, the bus stop for El Campello and San Juan is just outside the complex and the coastal tram just a few yards away. The little beach is lovely for sunbathing and picnics, for walkers there is a good stroll to Coveta fuma which cuts across the beach at Alkabir. The tram is handy for Alicante and Benidorm if you fancy something a bit more lively. The pool at he complex is one of the nicest we have come across and is always kept immaculate by the caretaker/gardener. There are bars and restaurants nearby and plenty in the beautiful town Campello a 15 minute walk.The apartment is kept very clean and tidy and is really comfortable. If you would like a holiday with quiet peacefull surroundings this is the place to come.

Lovely accommodation in gorgeous surroundings!
The property is a traditional Spanish design with two balconys that allow a refreshing breeze to flow throughout. There is a sea view from the front and a view of the mountains from the back. The pool and gardens are well maintained and make a lovely oasis away from the bustle of the promenade. The beach is only a two minute walk away and the nearest shops a ten minute walk. We had a great holiday in an amazing location!

Quiet Retreat
Ideal base for exploring the Costa region. Quiet location with 10 minute amble to the centre of El Campello and just a 5 minute walk from the nearest Tram station. The apartment is very clean,very well equipped and secure.

Had a great 5 days, lovely weather for the time of year. Apartment was comfortable and well equipped. Good location nice quite area, very near tram station easy walk to marina and town, supermarket in town was very good. The owner was very helpful giving us a lot of information about trips out. Enjoyed our 10 days in this apartment built on two levels which made it feel spacious. It was clean, attractive furnishings and with good facilities We were visiting friends on the same well kept and quiet complex with pool so it was very convenient (especially as they had a car !) We even managed to catch up on some UK TV programs now and again at our friends which we appreciated after a long day out ! .This particular facility wasn't available on the TV where we were staying which we would have liked but there were books and DVDs to watch along with other programs. We were pleased with the reliable wifi Very helpful owner . Great holiday having chosen the week of the Moors and Christians Fiesta

Enjoyable stay
We spent 2 weeks in the apartment during August. As in previous reviews the apartment is clean and cosy. It was very hot during our stay but opening the front and balcony door created a cool breeze. Everything you need is within walking distance including the tram stop. The pool was lovely not particularly busy either. The residents have a fiesta once a year which happened to clash with our stay, it ended at 4am and the music was extremely loud. Overall, a great location. John and Yvonne are happy to help with any questions. Would recommend a visit.

Our experience was exceptional. From the moment we arrived at the airport with the organised lift by the owner to the villa. The apartment has everything you need , in a lovely gated area with a big pool ( lifeguard in attendance ) Home from home. El Campello is in itself a perfect destination lots to do , shops, restaurant and wonderful beaches. The tram which is very very cheap and a stones throw from the apartment lets you explore local villages and town without the need of hiring a car. Thank you so much already looking to book again. Perfect retreat
We recently enjoyed a very relaxing holiday at this wonderful apartment which was spread over 2 floors. Both the lounge and the master bedroom had balconies which enjoyed full sun from early morning until mid afternoon. The balconies overlooked a well cared for garden and an excellent pool which had a full time life guard. The upper balcony also had sea view. The people in other apartments were very respectful of noise and made sure they were not disturbing nearby apartments. The apartment itself was clean and extremely well equipped with things extras like mosquito balls/,UK/Spanish adaptors, hair dryer as well as things like loo rolls/ washing up liquid/ shower+ loo cleaners. This is ideal for couples and families alike. The owner of the apartment was extremely well organised and helpful, even arranging for someone to collect us from the airport and show us around the apartment when we arrived and returning us to the airport at the end of our excellent holiday. Nearby was a wonderful restaurant( Le Cova) which overlooked the marina/harbour. The food was excellent and offered an all day " 3 course meal of the day" for 18eu which included half bottle of wine and water per person. There was an excellent choice for each course which changed each day and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful, consequently we ate out there most days. The tram station was a 5 minute walk from the apartment which meant you could travel down the coast to Alicante or up to Benidorm ( and beyond) in air conditioned comfort very cheaply( 1.60 eu) to Alicante. There are some beautiful safe beaches in El Campello which can be reached easily on foot. Wendy thoughtfully also provided beach chairs etc, alternatively loungers/ umbrellas could be hired at a reasonable cost and there are plenty of seats along the promenade if you wanted to stop for short rests. In all an excellent apartment in a lovely complex which was in an excellent location for our needs, somewhere we would certainly return to if we were to visit that area again.
