"This was a quaint cabin that we stayed in and the owner was very good with communication. This is an extremely beautiful area and allowed us to visit a beautiful town next to the area. There are several waterfalls and hiking opportunities and I believe we could’ve used a kayak if we asked, but we did not have time to do this. The kitchenette was adequate for cooking simple meals. "

"House was beautiful and clean. However it does have mice. This would not have been an issue had we have known but only found out after the first night when they ate my chocolate which would not have been left out had we known. We also found droppings in the kitchen draws and fireplace behind which was a mousetrap! The facilites were good however we could not use the tv as did not have the code and the owner did not respond to multiple requests for it."

"Lake Hotel Gistihusid Egisstadir was night 6 for us on our journey around Iceland’s famous ring road. This hotel was seemed a little out of the way but perfectly placed for our itinerary. There was an on-site restaurant, and many groups stayed for the night. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the guests all seemed very happy. We stayed in a ground-floor room that overlooked the countryside. It was remote and peaceful. We had a lovely evening here. "

"Lake Hotel Gistihusid Egisstadir was night 6 for us on our journey around Iceland’s famous ring road. This hotel was seemed a little out of the way but perfectly placed for our itinerary. "The property was clean and the room spacious. The front desk check-in was easy and so was check-out. I was a bit confused about whether or not I'd need special instructions for check-in, but actually if you are going to arrive in their regular time window (4-10pm) then you don't need to worry about any special instructions. In addition, the included breakfast was great. I also loved the snowy views from the window and the ease of parking close to the front door. Thank you for a great stay!"
