Enjoyable visit
Clean and very well done inside. All the rooms were well appointed and the coffee and scones were delicious. Outdoors could use a little TLC as it does not appear to match the attention that has been given inside. We certainly would consider visiting again.

Wknd getaway
Property was nice, clean. Picture of outside of home did not match current condition. Room very nice. Nice whirlpool. Bed very comfortable. Pastry selection was a little disappointing. Coffee delicious! Home very beautiful. We did not use the outdoor seating but nicely set up. Close enough to canal park, restaurants... We booked here for solitude and very peaceful. First night though someone had a dog in room and it barked for a bit in the night. We assumed it was a service dog asking to go out as when booking it said no pets. Overall nice stay. Downside, no daily maid service to make bed, pick up dirty towels... For the price and a 3 night stay, I prefer these services.

Just what we needed
Booked last minute because my heart needed a trip to the north shore. Being on the northend of Duluth allowed a shorter drive to Split Rock, Gooseberry, and Tettegouche. The owners antipated needs and questions we might have. It was clean, peaceful, and comfortable. The cleaning staff were friendly and helpful.

Great Get Away
Cute place but could use a bit more tlc and hands on. As mentioned in other reviews the grounds could use a bit of work, finding the codes for front entry and room could be easier to find too.

Beautiful inside, outside needs care
The inside of the mansion is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable to be in. The outside gardens, lawn and porch areas need some love. People will want to be outside on summer days and it has the potential to be fabulous. I hope the property management takes some time with it soon.

Salyard’s Mansion
Salyards Mansion was a nice quiet place to stay. The mansion is within walking distance of Congdon Park which has a trail along a river with multiple waterfalls. It is a beautiful trail and I highly recommend. We saw two deer in the backyard of the mansion, just hanging out! There is a beautiful view of Lake Superior from the Catholic Church School parking lot one block right behind the mansion. Our room was very clean and perfect for our stay. We drove to Canal Park and enjoyed a harbor cruise, walked along the Lake Walk, and enjoyed eating out. We enjoyed the Aquarium and the zoo, and a drive up to Gooseberry Falls. So beautiful! Had pie at the Rustic Inn in Castle Danger, and a fantastic breakfast at Uncle Louie’s. The mansion has a splendid Living Room with a fireplace and lots of books, very inviting. We especially loved the Sun Room, a perfect place to sit and read. There are a lot of seating areas outside the mansion to sit and breath the fresh air, including a summer house. I was sorry that we were there too early in the season to see the flowers! There are pastries and coffee and tea provided for breakfast. I found that I wished there was some protein available such as yogurt or boiled eggs, and fresh fruit. Overall, we loved our stay.

Wonderful and beautiful old house.
The house was wonderful, lots of charm and decorated very nicely. Didnt like having to pay a $10 pastry fee for day old home made muffins.

Brief Duluth Stay
The property was very clean and nice. Scones, muffins and coffee/tea in the morning was enjoyable. We chatted briefly with one of the managers who was very friendly. She let us store our bicycles in a small shed at the back of the building. Our only comment is the lack of seating in the room itself. There was only a small table with two chairs and the bed in the room. All other seating was in commons areas. Other than that we enjoyed the stay.
