Pearl's Place in heart of Historic Roscoe Village

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE to stay in one of the most iconic buildings in Historic Roscoe Village! The 1860's canal era building has a long history, originally constructed as a hotel on the 2nd and 3rd floors, the main floor was a pharmacy and dry goods store.

This apartment is where the original hotel lobby was first located. You will now find a full kitchen, full bathroom, living/dining room, and a bedroom with a king size bed. The apartment has Direct TV as well as high speed internet.

This charming 2nd floor apartment is located in the heart of Historic Roscoe Village, just steps away from shopping, dining and two wonderful bars.

This apartment has an adjoining door that connects to another Airbnb. This door is always locked from both sides, however, it can be accessible if both parties are traveling together. The other Airbnb unit is called "Dottie's Place in the Heart of Historic Roscoe Village". It is a two bedroom apartment with a queen and a full sized beds, living room with couch, full bathroom, kitchen and dining area. If interested, simply book both units for the same dates. This unit has a shared heating and cooling system. We keep the temperature comfortable year round with heating and air conditioning.

There is Coin Operated Laundry available for guests, located on the 2nd floor of the building. Please feel free to use the laundry facility if you need.

Roscoe Village is a very walkable area - once you've parked, you do not need a vehicle to explore the whole village. There is a dedicated gravel parking lot behind the building for our Airbnb and apartment guests. The host will send you an aerial photo of the building and parking lot for reference once you've booked.

Located within the heart of Historic Roscoe Village, this historic canal era town is filled with charm and small shops and just steps away from excellent dining options and a wonderful bar (with another opening soon). Also within walking or biking distance are the beautiful trails of Lake Park. Amish Country is just a short drive away and makes for an excellent day trip while staying in Roscoe Village.Downtown Coshocton is 2 minutes, Kid's America 10 minutes, Clary Gardens 3 minutes, Lake Park 5 minutes, West Lafayette and Warsaw 10 minutes. South Second Street (5 minutes) is where you will find fast food, pizza, discount stores and gas stations. EV chargers are located across from COTC on N. Whitewoman St. in Roscoe Village.

You are within walking distance of all of Roscoe Village. There are several area taxi services available if you wish to travel outside Roscoe Village and prefer not to drive.

You are staying in the restored Roscoe Hotel (circa 1856). The building was built by Arnold Medbery and it replaced Medbery’s earlier, wood framed hotel (built 1832) that burned. This building was also a stagecoach stop and was believed to have been on the Underground Railroad. The building housed retail businesses on the main level, sleeping rooms on the second and third floors, and a ballroom on the top floor.

The wood floors are from trees as far back as the 1600's and the original plaster walls have some cracks from nearly 170 years that add charm and character to the rooms. There was no electricity or cars and Ohio was just over 40 years old when this building was populated by early European settlers moving west. Millard Fillmore was president and the American civil war was still years away. This is no ordinary airbnb apartment, we have added modern conveniences but tried to keep the historical integrity alive for your enjoyment.

Make sure to visit the Coshocton Visitors Bureau located across the street from the apartment (at 432 N Whitewoman St) to get tons of local recommendations!
There are other apartments in the building, so general conscientiousness is expected.

Issues
Had several issues. "Local" TV programing was from Los Angeles, not Columbus. Tried movies but each wanted password. Get Direct TV back. Sheets on bed were a problem. Moved too easily, slippery and came off bed. Not comfortable. A/C too cold, ran continually, no control.

Unbeatable location, very cool historic property
Wonderful Roscoe experience. Only downside, a bit noisy, other guests were quiet, but there is a surprising amount of truck noise from street and highway. Just bring ear plugs.

Perfect!
The apartment was a perfect home base for my wife and I for a long weekend retreat. Perfect roomy location to unwind at the end of a long day. The two restaurants in Roscoe Village are A+ and literally right next door. We will definitely keep this place in mind for our next trip back.

The Secret Corner
There is a corner in Pearl's Place that has a history of the building which includes a murder. They also have pictures of Wiccan rituals, seance, and what appears to be ghosts. We only stayed one night of our 2 night stay as my wife was extremely uncomfortable with this type of decorating.
