"My family and I rented this cottage based on the past reviews and the cottage description. Unfortunately, the cottage was not properly described and was filthy when we arrived. We were assured by the owners that the cottage has been cleaned, but we did send photos of both buildings that proved otherwise. A cleaner was sent a day later but by then, we had already cleaned a bit. The kitchen had a tap that wasn't properly attached, stinky dish cloths, oven mitts with holes, drawers and cupboards...

"We stayed as a family of four with two young children at the end of summer. The property is beautiful and the water very shallow quite a ways out so it was perfect for our 1.5 and 2.5 year olds. The location is peaceful and quiet, the sound of the Palmer Rapids in the distance at night was like listening to the ocean. "This was a great place to stay with our elderly parents. The home is very clean with every comfort required. The check in was very straight forward. The walk to the lake is breath taking and beautiful. The lake is clean and has a lovely sandy bottom. There is a canoe and sup boards, however we did not use them as the water was a bit rough. "We had a lovely stay at this cottage. The lake was beautiful. We enjoyed the paddle boat, but no time to canoe this stay. At this time of year there were no neighbours which added to the peace and quiet. We were 15 minutes to Barry's Bay and 6 minutes to Madonna House.
