3BR Mountains-Nearby Lakes- Budget Getaway

Summary:
It’s a pretty nice trailer! With 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and 5 beds, this home has the space, the functionality and the value to warrant a second look! Located superbly between Palmer Lake & Monument, Colorado just north of Colorado Springs, there are multiple recreational lakes, trails and open spaces almost within walking distance. And with complimentary guest access to our bikes & kayaks, you won’t have any excuses not to have a great time! Browse our photos, ask us anything & book today!

The Space:
Don’t judge this book by it’s cover! You’ll pull up and park in the private gravel driveway in front of the home and enter through the front gate. You’ll immediately notice the great wooden deck, and maybe the trio of kayaks stacked against the house — hints, perhaps, that all isn’t as it seems here. Enter through the front door with the private electronic key-code provided to you at check-in. You’ll walk into a surprisingly open, bright, welcoming & modern space. This place has been updated to modern perfection. The kitchen and living room feature an open-living concept. Keep the conversation going with your family and friends while they cook and you lie back on the comfortable couch in front of the big TV above the electronic fireplace. There’s a little table with seating for 4 in the kitchen. The appliances are stainless steel and you’ll appreciate the big, basin sink while you wash up after creating that culinary masterpiece.

The home’s master bedroom, just down the hall, features king comfort, and a private bathroom. The second bedroom offers queen comfort, and the third features a twin-bunk setup perfect for the kids. Both of these bedrooms are serviced by a single, functional bathroom clean and ready for business. The beds are all appointed in hotel-quality linens, laundered professionally after each stay. There’s also a full laundry for guest use located close and convenient to the bedrooms. And generally, this home is managed by a vacation rental specialist and there’s a sense of quality and care here worthy of your 5-star review!

But enough about the practicalities … you’re here for the bikes & the kayaks and the outdoor living! You saw the kayaks when you entered, and maybe the bikes hanging up too, and these are all offered to guests free of charge … just treat them kindly and use them wisely! Immense possibilities of lake and trail, water and rock, sun and sky await! Monument Lake is right down the road, and Palmer Lake, the area’s namesake, just a bit further west. The deck also beckons — with Edison lights for ambiance and a massive grill for that perfect summer (or winter) BBQ. Spend an evening under the clear, Colorado sky with the stars bright and clear overhead. Wake up and enjoy a morning cup of coffee in the crisp, clean, mountain air as you gaze out onto the unobstructed views of the Rocky Mountain Front Range & Mt. Herman (at 9,063 ft!) just two miles to the west.

For those travelers and guests willing to give this home a second look, there are some great opportunities for real vacation-rental goodness. Offered at a nightly price that you really can’t beat, we think it’s the perfect value for the recreation-minded. Let us know if you have any questions & book today!

Guest Access:
Guest will have private access to the entire home, bikes, and kayaks. By participating in the use of bicycles and kayaks provided by us at the homeowner's premises, the users acknowledge and agree that we and the homeowner shall not be held liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages incurred during the course of such activities.

The Neighborhood:
Palmer Lake is a small town and bedroom community just north of Colorado Springs and named after Palmer Lake (of course) which offers year round fishing and kayaking and stand-up paddle-boarding in the summer. It’s a quiet, comfortable place at the base of the Rocky Mountain foothills surrounded by acreages and horse properties, National Forest land, trails, 4x4 roads and a real sense of Colorado, natural goodness. There are also an abundance of “built” amenities here too, with exceptional local restaurants, bars and cafes in the village of Palmer Lake. Be sure to check out O’Malleys, the local favorite pub and grill, Bella Panini and Rock House Ice Cream.

Just up the road in the town of Monument are more restaurants, breweries, distilleries, and excellent galleries and artisan shops … all near another lake perfect for an afternoon on a kayak or paddle-board. Just down the Interstate are a myriad of additional dining and shopping opportunities, and Castle Rock (20 mins up the Interstate) is a growing town just south of Denver, with factory outlets, movie theaters, and a notable downtown. Every summer beginning in July sees the town of Larkspur, just 15 minutes north, turn into a bustling 16th century European village during the annual Renaissance Festival. Though more quiet and peaceful than other areas in the Pikes Peak Region, the Palmer Lake area offers an exceptional & authentic Colorado experience to travelers and guests looking for the real thing.

We recommend that you have a car or use Uber or Lyft when traveling in the Pikes Peak Region. In the winter we STRONGLY recommend AWD or 4WD for the Palmer Lake area. We're happy to provide bus schedules and maps too if you'd like to use public transportation.

Disgusted!
My family and I travel quite often, and we have used Vrbo throughout the US as well as other countries. We typically are satisfied, and if anything is not up to standards the owners and management team ensure our comfort immediately. We traveled 6 hours to Colorado for a football tournament and when we arrived at our rental the condition in which we walked into was beyond disgusting. The house had not been tended to for who knows how long. The floor was filthy, the dishes were piled all over the counters, the stove had built up food everywhere, and all the furniture was in disarray. All of the beds were filthy with the bedding everywhere, dirty dishes in the rooms, feces in the toilet, and piles of blankets scattered. We contacted management who could not help us and suggested we cancel the reservation and go elsewhere. We explained how long we had been on the road and would clean up in order to stay there, they stayed they would return my cleaning deposit which has yet to be done and send a cleaning crew the next day and nobody showed up the entire stay. The wifi did not work at all, when we called they stated the router was behind the fireplace however there was no way to locate it behind the wall. The entire stay we had no tv for the kids and extremely glitchy service, so in order to communicate with anyone we hood have to go down the hill for service. I still have not received my refund or any form of communication.
