Restored Villa - Country House - Priest's House, Umbria/Tuscany borders

Casa del Prete is a beautiful rental property on the borders of Tuscany and Umbria, high above sea level, overlooking the entire Niccone Valley. Contemporary modern furnishings in a rustic atmosphere where you can relax and rejuvenate surrounded by beautiful countryside. A total of ten guests can be accommodated in four double ensuite bedrooms and one twin bedroom. The modern kitchen is well-equipped for the enthusiastic cook and there are plenty of areas to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
The living room on the ground floor is furnished with two large sofas and a coffee table and has an impressive fireplace. The alternative lounge on the first floor has a cool, calm and relaxing atmosphere and is furnished with leather sofas. Both have televisions and the ground floor living room is also equipped with a DVD player. A modern and well-equipped kitchen and comfortable dining room complete the living space. The utility room leads from the dining room and is equipped with a washing machine and tumble drier for guests' use. All the bedrooms are furnished to a high standard and provide every comfort and convenience. The Master bedroom and bedroom one have dressing areas and all four double bedrooms have their own private bath or shower room. The twin bedroom can be reached via the study. There is a separate toilet on the ground floor.

The impressive terrace with panoramic views over the entire Niccone Valley provides plenty of space for relaxing. The pool measures 10m x 5m with steps at the shallow end for easy entry and also has an outside shower. It is open during July and August but can be opened outside these times by special arrangement. Sunbeds and umbrellas are provided for your comfort. The pool has it’s own sheltered eating area with a table and chairs and a mini-kitchen with a barbeque for preparing and serving food. On the first floor terrace, via the study, you will find an outside table tennis table, a pizza oven and an indoor games room with a pool table and dartboard.

The gardens are terraced and are home to our olive trees which produce a small amount of oil each season.

Towels are provided and changed weekly. Washing and drying facilities are also available and towels for the pool are provided separately.

Wifi is provided. This is a non-smoking property.

Une belle maison aux confins de l'Ombrie et de la Toscane

La propriété est placée de facin idéale : une vue superbe, un calme reposant, non loin de Cortona, Gubbio, Assise, Arezzo, de nombreux restaurants (souvent excellents) à moins de 30 mn de voiture, les courses peuvent être réalisées aisément. La maison est remarquablement équipée (le descriptif est complet et pour les amateurs de vins le choix de verres est parfait!), les pièces sont grandes, les différents espaces intérieurs et extérieurs permettent à chacun de trouver sa place. Un détail : pour ceux qui aime la course à pieds il vous faudra apprécier les descentes et les ...montées! Bref un très beau lieu de sejour.

Ruhige Lage mit Aussicht in die Berge

Mit 3 Familien hatten wir einen entspannten Aufenthalt im top restaurierten Steinhaus, welches sich in absolut ruhiger Lage oben am Berg befindet. Sehr hervorzuheben, ist die tolle Betreuung der Housekeeperin Elsa, sie ist immer erreichbar und ist sehr hilfsbereit, somit konnten wir wunderbare Tage genießen. Danke

Excellent well equipped Tuscan Villa for 10 people

This beautiful villa is situated on the top of a ridge with magnificent views in several directions. It is quite isolated so no need to worry about the noise of young adults enjoying games in the pool disturbing the neighbours! The interior of the villa is very modern and well equipped with plenty of room for adults and young adults/children to have their own space. You can dine inside, outside or down by the pool, where there is a good quality gas BBQ. The housekeeper, Elsa, was very attentive and informative and helped arrange taxis for us. We only regret that we did not have time to go on her recommended Truffle hunt! The nearest village San Leo Bastia is about 15 minutes drive away and has a very basic supermarket, the next best supermarket is in Mercatale but it does not have a fresh meat section. A large modern supermarket can be found in Trestina, where you can get everything you need. Be aware supermarkets close on Sunday afternoon. The roads leading up to the villa are gravel not tarmac and if you are coming from Umbertide/Perugia be sure to ask the owner for directions as satnav will take you up a farm track that is not suitable for cars. We stayed for 1 week and it was definitely not long enough. We hope to return.

Simply stunning property with amazing views

Wow! Was the reaction from the family when we arrived at Casa del Prete. The plot is so spacious and the views are incredible. The house is stunning, it has been beautifully restored with modern fixtures yet retains its charm. It’s even better than it looks in the photos. The spaces are so sociable both inside and out. As the weather was hot we spent most evenings eating (bbq) and drinking outside in the pool area. We visited Cortina and Castiglione, both around a 45 minute drive, and spent a couple of evenings in the local restaurants recommended by the owners. The local Tavern in San Leo has great pizzas at such reasonable prices. When we came home from the restaurants the family couldn’t wait to play darts and table tennis. We could have stayed so much longer. Philippa was so helpful and accommodating and Elsa was on hand for anything we needed. We had the best family holiday in the most wonderful home. We are so grateful we could share it for a while. We couldn’t recommend Casa del Prete highly enough.

Top locatie. De ideale plaats om te ontstressen. Mooi groot authentiek huis gelegen op de bergflank met een prachtig zicht op de bergen en de vallei. De inrichting is licht en modern met al het hedendaagse comfort. De rit naar het huis is afhankelijk van de gekozen weg uitdagend. Een SUV maakt het zeker makkelijker. Een aanrader.

Authentiek, rust, genieten

Als familie met 3 gezinnen beleefden wij een fantastische vakantieweek. Een huis met karakter, voorzien van alles met een prachtig buitenterrein. Hoogtepunten: de gezellige ronde buitentafel, het lager gelegen zwembad, de stilte, de sterrenhemel en het karaktervolle huis met de vele ruime kamers en fijne keuken. Alle kinderen en volwassenen hebben enorm genoten.

Beautiful and quiet stay

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful home! The property is stunning and the views are exquisite. The location definitely requires an SUV to access, there are some windy dirt roads. All amenities worked well (the pool was closed for the winter) We had some issues with the wifi but Phillippa was extremely responsive and attentive. Would come again for a holiday.

Traumurlaub mit Einschränkungen

Die Lage und die Ausstattung des Hauses sind wirklich top und entsprechen der Schilderung in der Ausschreibung. Wir haben uns mit zwei Familien samt Teenager sehr wohl gefühlt. Lediglich die Sauberkeit ließ (zumindest nach deutschem Standard) an einigen Stellen zu Wünschen übrig. So waren die Duschkabinen mit Kalkflecken versehen und auch die Arbeitsflächen in der Küche samt Schubladen und Schränke könnten einer gründlicheren Reinigung unterzogen werden. Des weiteren wurde der Pool erst kurz vor unserer Abreise gereinigt. Die Kommunikation mit der Hausverwaltung war überwiegend sehr gut, allerdings wurde versäumt, uns darauf hinzuweisen, dass an einem Tag in der gesamten Stadt der Strom abgestellt wurde, so dass wir einige Stunden auf dem Gelände "festsaßen", da das Tor nur elektrisch zu bedienen war. Nach Kontaktaufnahme wurde hier dann schnell reagiert. Nicht glücklich war die Kommunikation bei der Hausübergabe bei Abreise. Hier fand leider keine gemeinsame Hausbegehung statt, obwohl wir Zeit dafür gehabt hätten. Ärgerlicherweise wurde im Nachhinein eine Gebühr von der Kreditkarte abgebucht für eine zusätzliche Reinigung, die angeblich aufgrund der Hunde erforderlich gewesen sei. Das hat im Nachhinein dem insgesamt wunderschönen Urlaub in traumhafter Lage und einem tollen Haus einen kleinen unschönen Beigeschmack verpasst. EinTip noch für Menschen, die Angst vor Hunden haben - es waren trotz der Einzäunung immer wieder fremde Hunde auf dem Anwesen. Diese waren freundlich und nett, aber man sollte es vielleicht im Vorfeld wissen.

Wir, 2 Familien mit je 2 Teenagern, haben dieses tolle Haus eine Woche genossen. Es ist wirklich einzigartig. Die Lage und der Blick in die Umgebung sind grandios. Das Haus ist zwar alt, aber sehr modern und geschmackvoll ausgestattet. Pool, Billiard, Tischtennis, Grillecke im Garten, bequeme Sitzlounge, moderne Küche und die Schlafzimmer mit den Bädern sind einfach top. Wir sind immer noch begeistert. Die Straßen zum Haus sind für die Abgeschiedenheit in einem sehr guten Zustand und die Lage bietet sich für Ausflüge in jede Richtung an. Vielen Dank für Alles, auch für die liebevolle Betreuung vor Ort von Mirka.

Wonderful Christmas break!

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautifully restored house. It's very modern inside and exceptionally well equipped - we cooked at home every day, including Christmas dinner, and had everything we could possibly need. The bedrooms are large, warm, and comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious and modern with excellent showers. There are two living areas with huge sofas so there's lots of space for everyone to spread out, which our teenagers appreciated! Everything was spotlessly clean and any questions we had were quickly answered by the caretaker or owner. The house is perched on a hill overlooking the valley with stunning views - if you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the perfect place to stay. We would definitely recommend this lovely property and would stay again in a heartbeat Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us, we had a perfect Christmas!

House with superb view

we had an amazing holiday at Casa del Prete. the house is like in the photos and fully equipped. it is surrounded by nature and the view is breathtaking especially in the morning. the landlord and the care taker are super kind and prompt in replying. it is suitable for both grown ups and kids.

Ein wirklich schönes, gepflegtes und sehr sauberes Haus mit einem tollen Swimmingpool , das für bis zu 10 P. geeignet ist. Die Lage ist atemberaubend schön, allerdings benötigt man ein Auto für den Einkauf oder den Restaurantbesuch. Die Vermieter sind auf Zack, kleinere Probleme wurden umgehend und charmant behoben. Wir haben uns in den neun Tagen wohlgefühlt und auch unsere beiden Teenager waren mit der "chilligen Location" mehr als zufrieden.

La dolce far niente!

Een TOP huis, erg ruim en net. De 5 slaapkamer zijn ook licht en erg groot, we waren in totaal met 10p, geen enkel moment ‘druk’! Enige nadeel is dat de dichtstbijzijnde (grote) supermarkt op 35 min rijden ligt, maar als je de inkopen ‘groot’ doet valt dit ook goed te doen! Erg tevreden gasten ;-)

Amazing views, history and modern features

Welcoming and all the features needed for a week in the country. The kitchen, bathrooms and furnishings were comfortable, clean and new/well maintained condition. Appreciated plastic drink ware for pool and loads of glassware for inside. Plenty of room inside and out for a group to be together or have a quiet moment to relax. Stocked with books, games and radio/DVD player for good entertaining. Fans in room made for cool nights without AC. We found traveling the road south of house much easier on the car and passengers rather than driving in from north/San Leo Bastia on gravel pitted road. The views of the hill ridge lines make up for the ride. We enjoyed ping ping from the balcony and chilly evenings in the billiards room. Our only hiccup was a lack of hot water for showers which was quickly fixed that day. Believe a rain storm power flicker caused this. Lovely garden with a cheery tree, loads of lavender and olive trees. While houses are nearby and we briefly met the farmer next door (with horse Emily and dogs Tango and Jacko), this place is secluded. Very few passing cars. The gated entry provides nice security. Really well appointed escape! Thanks for sharing with us!

Stunning property with lovely interior rooms and style and world beating panoramic view

This is a glorious place to stay if you like being up in the hills. Superb views and a wonderful pool area. All amenities including broadband and a modern kitchen. House is 10 mins frm a bar/cafe and small store. Most restaurants are 20 to 30 mins drive. The interesting medieval towns are about an hour away but lovely. Locals are very friendly and the whole feel of the area is wonderfully relaxed. Prices very reasonable too.

Perfect hideaway for a Christmas/New Year break

We loved being in a "home away from home" this Christmas - the well-equipped kitchen and amazing fireplace made for the perfect hideaway - great food, log fires and lots of relaxation. We are able to log in to Netflix (great for the teenagers) and had many rounds of pool and darts on wet days. The weather is quite mixed at this time of year and the clear bright days were spent exploring the area more fully. The house is pretty high up so bring a camera if you want to get some incredible morning shots above the cloud - such a beautiful way to start the day. The house caters for every need so it felt like home in many ways. Communication with the owners was simple and the locals are extremely friendly - cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Tolles Haus abseits vom Trubel

Wir hatten einen super Urlaub in einem tollen Haus welches Abseits auf einem Berg liegt. Dadurch hat mein eine tolle Aussicht über die umliegenden Hügeln. Es ist die totale Ruhe, kein Straßenlärm., keine Leute. Es liegt wirklich Abgeschieden. Wer sowas sucht, ist hier richtig. Beim nächtlichen Weg zum Haus begegnet man Wildschweine, Rehe, Stachelschweine usw. Das Anwesen ist komplett Umzäunt. Für den Einkauf oder Besuch eines Restaurants, ist ein Auto unbedingt notwendig. Das Haus ist im super Zustand und top Ausgestattet. Uns fehlt nichts bei unseren Grillabenden.
