Located near Charleston's restaurant & nightlife area on upper King Street, this 2-story, loft-style townhome offers guests quick access to fabulous shopping, restaurants & entertainment AND a comfortable retreat within the city where you can rest and relax. Guests enter this duplex from the back of the building via their own private porch. Upon entering the home, you will find hardwood floors throughout, an open floor plan for the living room & kitchen area and an abundance of natural light spilling in through the windows. Both bedrooms are located up the stairs, each with their own Charleston piazza and attached en suite bathroom. Off-street parking on the driveway for up to two cars is included in the rental rate. This home is perfect for two couples, a girls or guys' weekend, a family getaway and more!

LOCATION:

With close proximity to upper King Street and the Crosstown (Septima P. Clark Parkway), the location of this home enables guests to walk to restaurants, shops & other cultural delights and provides quick road access to Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, all local beaches, Charleston County parks, historic plantation homes along the Ashley River and other local attractions. There are a lot of new local restaurants -- as well as all the offerings of Upper King Street -- within a couple of minutes stroll from the Sweet Spacious Suite. With D'Allesandros Pizza (a local pizza institution), Brown's Court Bakery (amazing breads & pastries) and the Ordinary (high end oyster & seafood restaurant) a couple of blocks, guests have many unique local food options to explore. Walk to Barsa for some Tapas or visit the Daily for some coffee or locally made Kombucha!

This is the best neighborhood in Charleston if you are looking to be steps away from King Street and experience the area as a local in a transitional neighborhood among new residents of the city, students and longtime local families. The diversity and richness of history in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood makes this part of town desirable to locals and visitors alike. Sweet Spacious Suite is perfect for folks who enjoy a diverse, vibrant and eclectic neighborhood where you can watch the reinvestment & revitalization in old historic properties going on in real time. Parts of the neighborhood might still look a bit rough but it is safe. This neighborhood was recently profiled by the WALL ST JOURNAL in April 2017 as "THE PLACE TO STAY IN CHARLESTON" and it's also where Jamie Lee Curtis stayed - and walked her dog every morning - while shooting the 2018 remake of the Halloween movie!

We are close to the crosstown parkway which may impact light sleepers but our db readings show it isn't loud enough to be a disturbance. There is also construction in the street which is almost complete but may result in additional noise during the day or other issues beyond our control.

- Dogs may be permitted subject to additional rules & restrictions. (Please notify us in advance of your arrival if you would like your dog to accompany you during your stay.). Cats and animals (other than dogs) are not permitted.

- Although this home is very close to the sights & sounds of downtown Charleston, this property is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. We expect guests to behave in a neighborly way. Parties are not permitted at anytime. Please no excessive noise and no unregistered guests during quiet hours (10:00 pm to 8:00 am Sunday through Thursday nights and midnight to 10:00 am on Friday and Saturday nights).

- Please also note this is a duplex so you will occasionally hear and see the residents of the other half of the home. The yard is shared by both halves of the duplex.

Great stay in Charleston!
This place is exactly as advertised ... roomy downstairs with two bedrooms and two baths upstairs in a great neighborhood! We had everything we needed to explore Charleston and return to comfortable surroundings. Yes, there is some highway noise but not enough to keep us awake. The plus side is that it is easy to get on the highway and easy to get back from visiting plantations, Mt. Pleasant, etc. And we especially loved the neighborhood. Bistronomy at Nico's was so good that we ate there twice. The grocery store across the street from it covered all our needs. And Island Provisions was great for breakfast. We would not hesitate to rent this place again!

Charleston Vacation
We travelled to Charleston for an extra long weekend. It was amazing. The house was very clean and the highway traffic noise did not bother us in the least. There were restaurants, breakfast places and shopping all within walking distance. It was easy to get to all the places we wanted to go. Would definitely stay there again.

What a great place!!
This house was perfect for the two of us and our dogs! The house was so close to everything Charleston. The neighbors were friendly and the workers never bothered us or got in our way. Sister Outing
My sister and I went to celebrate Fathers Day together. Dad just passed away in March. I live in Myrtle Beach and have been to Charleston several times but my sister lives in Iowa and hasn’t been for 30 years. The location was perfect for walking most places we wanted to see and great restaurants in that area as well. Walked at night and felt very safe in this neighborhood as well.

Needs some work
Love the off street parking. We noticed a stale/cat pee smell when we walked in. Photos do not match the current decor of the house. Most of the furniture is in poor shape and needs to be thrown away as well as many needed repairs to make this place rentable, in my opinion. The front door is very hard to lock/unlock and to open/close for example. I like the overall location minus the noise from the highway behind the house. With a little work this could be a great 5 star rating rental.

The Sweet Spacious Suite was the perfect set-up for my husband and I and another couple on a weekend trip to Charleston! Two big bedrooms, each with our own bathroom. Walking distance to fantastic local breakfast spots and shopping on North Kong Street.

Perfect for a party of four for a long weekend. Most of the time we kept our car in the driveway and walked into the heart of Charleston. Many breakfast choices within a few blocks.
