Great property
We had a nice relaxing Getaway with the family. The house was definitely spacious as well as the Property. We had camfires nightly by the river. We were able to dock our boat right at the house and fished off the dock. Ther are restaurants to pull the boat or kayaks up to for food and drink on the patio.

Guys weekend
Great getaway after weeks in quarantine! House was perfect for our needs. Privacy, but great access to the river. Great big kitchen for all the great food. If i needed something i found it! Grill a little small but it worked. Nice and deep at the end of the dock for the few who dared to jump in. Would recommend for similar larties to ours!

Great stay in mid August
We had a great time at the house (3adults,3kids) in mid to late August. Stayed a week. The house is big with enough room for everyone to have their own “space”. The living spaces were clean and well maintained. The game room could use a little cleaning from the spider webs, but the kids didn’t care, so not a real issue. The kids loved the dock and were out there fishing in the early mornings. They also loved swimming, canoes, and feeding the chickens and rabbits that wonder around on the property. There are also games and a ping pong table to keep them occupied. We had great weather so were out by the fire pit every night. S’mores and roasted hot dogs were a must! Dan was great. Met us at the house and did a full walk through. Even offered fresh eggs from the coop. The house is off the main road, so aside from the river boat traffic there is virtually no noise! It’s incredibly peaceful and was just what we all needed to decompress. Really amazing stay. Can’t wait to go back there next year!

A Wonderful Vacation for Our Family
We spent three nights with our family of eight adults. The property was just what we were looking for in a short summer escape. The weather was quite good, with the exception of some rain on one of our days. Regardless, we enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, and lawn games. The canoe and life vests were provided. On the rainy day, we played indoor games which we brought with us, although some games and dvds were available. The best item of note with this cottage was the amount of space it provided. The kitchen was more than adequate, plus there were two outdoor grills. Appliances, including a dishwasher, were large, and dishware, cutlery, and kitchen tools were plentiful. All eight of us could easily sit at the dining room table inside or the square picnic table outside. The five bedrooms and two full baths were terrific, because there were three king beds among them. Towels and linens were provided. Since it was a hot, humid time, we were very appreciative of the air conditioning. Given eight adults, there were times when we wanted to be together and times when we wanted to be apart. The sitting areas throughout the cottage were plentiful enough to allow that to happen. As with most waterfront cottages, everything was not pristine. However, we have no real complaints since our expectations were all met. The view of the Oneida River was very pretty, and sunsets were colorful. The campfire at the end of the day was a real treat. Our host, Dan Childers, met us upon our arrival and made us feel at home. He quickly answered our one or two calls for assistance. We appreciate his hospitality. Thank you very much for allowing us to review our stay. This property provided a fun, safe, successful home-away-from-home.

If you’re looking for a quiet place on the lake, this is it! We brought our jet skis and were able to keep them at the dock. The home was clean and large enough for 2 families and was equipped with most of what you would need! Checking in was simple and Dan came down and introduced himself while we were sitting at the lake to make sure we didn’t need anything! Thank you so much for a great stay!

Fabulous July 4th vacation!
This was ideal! We have not been able to fit our entire family anywhere since all of us (4) got married and had kids. With pack n plays, Dan let us fit. The goose poop all over the yard was the only thing that was tough with six children under four but there’s very little that Dan could have done. He was very accommodating when we asked about more garbage space.

Vacation by the Oneida river
We rented Dan’s lovely cottage for 3 nights in July 2019 for friends reunion. Cottage location is simply amazing right by the river, very spacious and roomy with comfortable beds and furniture, clean bathrooms and kitchen. Dan was quick in getting us some missed supplies, rooms from inside are clean but there are a lot of cobwebs in every corner both up and between chairs in the ping pong room as well lot of dead insects and flies at the main door, a good cleaning will do wonders to this place. Overall we had a fantastic time, will certainly visit next year. Thanks, Augustine

Beautiful days and nights by the river
Our group of 8-10 family members (ages 28-67) stayed at Dan's place for a week in late August for a wedding and family reunion. It was just perfect for us: 20 min. to the airport, 30 min. to downtown Syracuse and 45 min. to the wedding venue. We used the huge upstairs bathroom, with all it's mirrors and counter space for the women, and the downstairs one for the guys. Every evening we sat outside with the moon, stars and twinkling lights on the water, and listened to the amazing symphony of tree frogs and crickets. We even enjoyed a little campfire by the water one night. During the days, people went kayaking and canoeing, or just watched the boats and barges go by. It was truly idyllic and relaxing. Some people set up laptops in the quiet upstairs room, while others watched TV downstairs or put together a puzzle. We had plenty of room to store leftover wedding food in the fridge and kegs on the back sunroom. Dan was very responsive during our planning stages, but we never met him during our stay. However, his wife was available, cordial and helpful when we had a question. My family said I "nailed it" with this rental house. Who could ask for more?

spacious house, great for relaxing
We were a group of 2 families (4 adults and 4 kids), and spent 5 nights in the house. We loved the house and had a fantastic week! The house was clean and so spacious, with plenty of room to spread out! The beds were great, as well as the large bathrooms! Huge kitchen, equipped with all we needed. My only suggestion would be maybe a couch for the upstairs tv area. We spent most of our time in the large yard and dock area. Slow moving river made it the perfect spot for fishing and swimming right off the docks, with minimal weeds. We had a great, relaxing week and look forward to staying here again next year! Thanks!

Disappointing
We stayed one night at the property with two other families in the middle of July 2018. We were looking forward to our time here, but it was disappointing. The house needs a good scrub, some new flooring, windows, and furniture. The rug that is mostly on the first floor is sticky and old. I have a toddler that was crawling all over and within minutes her knees and hands were gray. I briefly took off my shoes, and then put them back on because my feet felt the stickiness of the carpet. It is unclear how the a/c works in the bedrooms and some rooms were fairly warm. It was nice to provide linens and towels, but a few were stained. The windows were very dirty with lots of bugs (dead and alive) in between the screens and the glass. The property was large, but not worth the money spent. The space had very few comfy places to sit with odd items such as an organ with broken keys. The closet full of games were mostly broken or missing pieces. I was so thankful that we only reserved one night. The kitchen was not well stocked and you could feel a layer of grim on the counters and floor. I have stayed at about 15-20 other Homeaway properties and never had a disappointing experience like this.

Spacious house for our group of 10
We were 5 adults and 5 children with lots of space in a fully equipped house with some recent upgrades. The website needs to be updated to reflect 3 king bedrooms which WAS NICE, plus 1 full bed and 1 room with 3 bunk beds. Nice open space outside of the bedroom, with day bed, and we loved the adjoining 2nd-floor deck looking out over the river. It was a hot week so the central air in bedrooms was a plus and window AC in rest of house. Large kitchen and dining area but would recommend an upgrade on silverware. Fully equipped laundry room and a closet full of games and puzzles for rainy days. We had a good week with plenty of options of things to do. Next to the river with a dock made for great kayaking on the river and canal. Kids loved swimming off the dock. Local roads are great for road biking also with shoulders or very light traffic on rural roads. Owner lives close by and is very responsive to needs.

Great house in a great location!
Our group spent a week here last year and had a fantastic time this year. Dan has improved the house and it exceeded our expectations. We fished on the river and the lake. We took day trips to Syracuse, Skaneateles, and even Watertown. Checking in and out were a breeze and the house had everything we needed. We cooked dinners in the oven and on the grill. Everything we needed was right in the house!

Spacious but smelly
The house was very spacious and clean. The outside of the house had cigarette butts and goose poop all around. There were also rusty fish hooks on the ground, we could not walk around bare foot. We were planning to swim, but the water was extra swampy and there were alerts of bacteria in the water. But the house itself was nice!
