"What a great little farmhouse! Absolutely everything that we needed was available, well stocked! Nicely decorated and very comfortable. Private location - had a nice visit from a squirrel and some deer! Loved all the wood furniture details. The wood stove was so cozy, was all setup for us when we arrived. "Centrally located, my stay at The Lookout allowed me to attend three outstanding Celtic Colours concerts in Judique, Cheticamp and Mabou. The accommodation is all that was promised… spotless, all amenities, comfortable bed, great shower, cozy even as the October temperatures dipped and wind drove the waves along the coast. One morning, I walked to the shore on the private path… here are some of my impressions— Collindale I walk a well-tended path to the shore past the lonely cormorant perched on Sutherland’s Pond past the pair of flickers startled from feeding on rose hips Up and over, through wind-waved dune grass to powder soft sloping sands white-capped waves sailing on blue water Crashing the beach I follow the faint track of a coyote stopping to see where he circled round a derelict lobster trap once fragrant bait bag hanging from wire ribs I sit on a weathered trunk bleached by sun and salt water watch a flight of crows helter-skeltered by the wind On my slow-stepping return through the tangle of bayberry and regosa one last raspberry reveals all of summers sweetness on my tongue October 17 2024 "

"Our first time exploring Cape Breton and we made this our base for a few days. We were expecting it be rustic and it sure was - a real old-style beach cabin. The plumbing had a few issues but it delivered hot water no problem. The kitchen is the front entry so a bit crowded. Still, we had a great stay. The porch and picture window allows for great views of the sunset and lighthouses at night. Colin was very helpful with our reservation when we needed to make a change. It seemed a bit over-priced for what it was but in line with other properties in the area."
