While the room was a little dated, it was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful & friendly. The hotel is located in a great spot in walking distance from several restaurants, tasting rooms, bars and shopping. The world famous Carmel Beach is just a few blocks away. There was road construction in front of the hotel during our stay so the hotel provided us with a complimentary upgrade away from the noise. It was perfect. We will stay again.

Pros: Our room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the ocean and even came with a resident seagull that wanted to be fed constantly. The room was spacious with a fireplace and balcony with two chairs. The staff was accommodating and delivered towels and coffee amenities when asked. Convenient parking underground with an elevator. The property was conveniently located near downtown shopping and restaurants. Cons: the nightstands were badly scratched and the doors on the wet bar were hanging by a thread. No room service unless you asked for it and we were told when we checked in that we had to make our own bed and call for towels when needed. The water pressure was poor which made it a challenge to perform hand and facial cleansing functions. The carpet was old and very dated, but it did look clean. The only ice machine was on the first floor next to the pool. No breakfast service and for the room rates breakfast should be delivered to your room if so desired.

Spacious, pet friendly room with a patio so no having to put on shoes and a coat to take dog for a walk for "outside business." The rooms could use a modern refresh but that's not a deal breaker for me. As long as the bed is comfy and towels are soft, I'm happy (they were). We also enjoyed the fireplace with auto-shutoff. Underground parking and a great location a plus.
