This hotel is centrally located, walking distance to the bridge of sighs, St. Mark’s Square, shops, The Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s Cathedral, restaurants, canals, and the vaporetto. Since the hotel is next to the canal, you can take the water taxi from the airport and get off right at the hotel lobby. If you prefer to be on a budget, you can still of course take the vaporetto (Alilaguna) from the airport and get off at San Marco station and walk to the hotel for a couple of minutes. So accessible! The hotel staff are friendly, accommodating, mindful, and helpful. The breakfast was more than sufficient. Food quality is very good, the fruits are fresh, the bread selection was great. The room was big, we got a patio with a city view, it had a balcony, sufficient closet space, the bathroom was surprisingly large enough for Europe (American hotel bathrooms tend to be bigger). No issues whatsoever with the amenities. The staff cleaned the room regularly, the sheets were fresh, the pillows appear clean and disinfected. We would stay at this property again! We had a wonderful and memorable time.

The older gentleman who checked us in was very dismissive. Great breakfast and everything else was good.

Mainly good location except entrances to the hotel were through a narrow lane which felt unsafe. The main area was only 100 yards or so, but anyone could be behind you. As a solo lady didn’t enjoy this lane and no mention on Expedia before I booked. Most staff were ok but some were unhelpful when asked where some places were. 1 receptionist didn’t want to mark my map and when pressed clearly marked a totally different area. So I walked 20 mins to be told I was in the wrong place. On arrival the room allocated stank of drains, I flushed the WC several times but it was dreadful. I went to reception and had to be forceful to change rooms. First receptionist simply shrugged and said they had no other too available which was a lie. Fortunately another receptionist took over and I was moved. They took pleasure later in saying the maid didn’t smell anything!

I have stayed at Mandarin Oriental hotels in Shanghai , Madrid, and Bangkok, and I have been lucky enough to stay at the Savoy in London. I’m headed to the George the V Four Seasons in Paris to join my wife. Several months ago I stayed at the Four Seasons Budapest. The Baglioni Luna hotel is an absolute jewel , and the price for the service and facilities cannot be beaten. The staff was magnificent as was the included breakfast. It is clearly one of my favorite hotels.
