Take a Hike Cabin Explore the Wichita Mountains, Handicap king bed, sleeps 2

Nestled at the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, The Take a Hike Cabin at The Lazy Buffalo portrays the captivating landscape that awaits you in the Wichita Mountains where you can find 59,000 acres of mixed prairie grass, ancient mountains, lakes, streams, and miles upon miles of trails waiting to be discovered.

Many say that The Lazy Buffalo resembles an Old West Town. Our Cabins are similar to a classic motel layout. There are charming touches throughout the property along with modern offerings such as Wi-fi, Netflix, and the convenience of self check in.

The Take a Hike Cabin offers a king size bed and a walk in tiled shower with Handicap rails. Barn wood, knotty pine, and corrugated tin are used throughout the spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings really add a rustic yet elegant vibe. The kitchenette area has a mini fridge, microwave, k cup coffee maker, along with tables, and chairs. There is also a plus loveseat.

*** This is a Handicap Accessible Cabin. ***

During your stay, enjoy complimentary Netflix and Wi-Fi or unplug and take in the beauty of our area. Watch as the sunsets over the plains from the long covered front porch while lounging in the wooden rockers. Southwest Oklahoma sunsets are truly worth witnessing.

Sip on a cup of coffee to get your morning started right and end your adventurous day gathered at the covered picnic area while enjoying smells from the charcoal grill. Yummy marshmallow goodness at the fire pit is a memorable way to cap off the evening or choose to relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin.

Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes and playing old fashion games. Toss Frisbees at the disc golf stations, drop giant checkers to make a Connect 4, create music at our interactive music wall, or team up for some volleyball action. We are always adding new outdoor activities. Don't forget to snap some memories at The Lazy Buffalo photo ops.

LOCATION:
The Wildlife Refuge is just over 2 miles away and preserves 59,000 acres of mixed prairie grass, ancient mountains, lakes, and streams. Herds of bison, longhorn, and elk can be seen roaming free and there's endless recreations opportunities such as fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking.

A paved bike lane joins the property and runs throughout the Wildlife Refuge. The Lazy Buffalo is less than a mile from the original Quanah Parker’s Star House and minutes from Lawton Fort Sill and historic Medicine Park so there's plenty to see and do nearby.

We needed a break...just the two of us. We saw The Lazy Buffalo online and took a chance. It was wonderful. The decor was so cute and quaint. The bed was absolutely amazing. We had the handcap room with a walk in shower, with wonderful rain head. It was just what we needed...a short getaway. We will definitely return and definitely recommend it to others.

Such a great experience
My spouse and I rented a cabin for ourselves and our two kiddos, his parents, and my parents. The games outside we wonderful. We cooked out each day and enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the picnic tables. The location was supreme: it’s near the Fort Sill museum, bath lake, Jed Johnson tower and lake trails (amazing history), and the Holy City. These were great for kids (1-5) and elderly. The cabins were super clean, wonderfully decorated, kid friendly, and cozy. We met Julie while checking in - and if you see her, you must say “hello”. She and her daughter are so friendly.

Great place to stay.
If you draw for the Wichita Mountain once in a lifetime elk hunt this is the best place to stay. Literally a few miles down the road from registration and check in. Not to mention it is a clean place and at a very reasonable price. They take awesome care of the place and I can’t stress enough how close you are to the refuge.

This property is very close to the Wichita Mountains NWR which was our interest in the area. Easy access, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Cute decor. Cache is nearby with gas, ice, grocery, and dining. Management was very responsive to questions. Would most definitely recommend to others and would stay again.
