The Hampton is basically The Hilton without the expensive bells and whistles. However, don't let this opening statement put you off staying as it's unbelievable value for money. Everything was spot on for our weekend...(Stayed for Uttoxeter races). The Hotel is in the middle of the F.A.'s not so little baby, St Georges Park where the England team train and is a fabulous set up. (I wouldn't take any notice of the people who say that there's football memorabilia everywhere...it's not a museum, but there are pictures of England players from past and present in the rooms and along corridors etc. but it's not as if you've got to stop and look at them all!)Food is great and management appear to have taken on board the few complaints over the food at breakfast being cold and not fresh, as our breakfast on the two days was excellent. Staff are also very attentive and knowledgeable. So all in all, a great weekend at a VERY reasonable price. We will certainly be back to St Georges in the future!
We visit Alton Towers every year for the fright nights. We had to book at the last minute meaning our usual hotel was fully booked. After searching for quite a while this hotel came up and I was intrigued, as I hadn't seen it come up before and I always have high expectations for a Hilton. And what can I say? I'm so pleased our usual hotel was full!
This hotel is absolutely stunning. It's large and spacious (and full of footballers funnily enough). The rooms are new so are clean, tidy and well planned with plenty of sockets for straighteners, etc. and a kettle for a cuppa. Beds are comfy and the staff genuinely couldn't do enough for you. The hotel provides breakfast with your room and is delicious (I recommend the strawberry and vanilla smoothie). The evening food is pricey but you get your monies worth as it's very tasty and you get a lot of it. To top it all off it's only 30 minutes from Alton Towers so very convenient for thrill seekers.
All in all, I love this hotel and will definitely be staying here again.
This hotel is part of the Hilton. However the Hilton was more expensive. You don't get the swimming pool, upmarket breakfast or fancy toiletries. There is a gym, the breakfast has everything from cereals, yoghurts, cooked and pastries included. The toiletries are in dispensers but absolutely fine and their are lots of plugs! The service is outstanding as is the cleanliness. Great shower.
On arrival the hotel was fab! Easy check in, friendly helpful staff. Got our things sorted and tried to put the tv on which had sound but no picture. Rang reception who said someone would be up to sort it. Lovely lady tried her best but was unable to get a picture so offered us another room which we got very quickly. Second tv had picture but no sound so we rang reception again and the same lady came up and sorted it again by giving us a second remote. Tv only worked with a combination of the two remotes. Excellent service on fixing the problem. Had a brilliant nights sleep and breakfast in the morning was too with a lot to choose from! Check out was also quick and easy but didn't feel rushed. Hotel wasn't busy even though we stayed on a Friday night. Would be very happy to stay again!
The hotel was beautiful with friendly staff.
The only issue I had was the room was not vacuumed once for the three nights I stayed despite complaining about it.
Great short stay for stop over. Cleanliness and helpfulness of the hotel and staff were faultless. Its joined onto hilton so feels very much like your staying at a hilton as share facilities. If your a footy fan its ideal, we seemed to be the only non fa related peeps there. Beautiful grounds and buffet breakfast with hot food choices was of good quality, I would def stay again without question.
We had a lovely stay after a fantastic day at Alton Towers. Unfortunately our visit was spoilt by the water being off, therefore we were unable to shower and the breakfast was not of a very good standard as hot and cold drinks machines were out of order!! Would return tho.
My partner and I had a brilliant night stay in this hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel was immaculate and the service was above expected. Most definitely a hotel worth going back to. Amazing value for money too.
