"Eagle’s Nest" is a 2 Bedroom/2 Full Bathroom, ♿️ Wheelchair Accessible, chemical fragrance free and Medical Medium friendly! 1,562 (inc. Decks) sq ft cabin for rent on 12 acres that overlooks Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This land is bordered on 3 sides by 600 acres of the Nantahala National Forest. Lake access and pontoon rentals are available just a few short minutes from the cabin.
Eagle’s Nest was designed and built by local artists and craftsmen with great attention to every detail. This is brand new construction with thoughtful furnishings that include one-of-a-kind artwork, decor and handmade furniture crafted by the owners. Be at peace knowing these homes are completely free of any toxic fragrances or chemical cleaners. There are no air fresheners, plug ins, scented candles, incense, commercial laundry soaps or fabric softeners. We wash all of the linens, shower curtains, bath mats etc. in house to insure they are cleaned without any toxic commercial soaps, stain removers, or bleach. We use non toxic cleaning supplies like Unscented Seventh Generation, BonAmi, BioKleen, peroxide, vinegar, and baking soda. This entire 12 acre property has NEVER been sprayed with pesticide. We are aware of how these toxic commercial fragrances have a burning effect on the nerves, can perpetuate a weakened immune system, deplete the nervous system, and cause several other chronic health symptoms. Rejoice in knowing that inside our homes and outside in the surrounding hundreds of acres of National Forest, clean air and oxygen are absorbed with every breath.

Mountain top getaway
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay; so peaceful and quiet. We hit some really cold and windy weather and couldn’t be outside as much as we’d liked. But the property was found to be exactly as advertised. As everyone has commented, the views were fantastic and we enjoyed the outdoor firepit and decks. And celebrated an early Thanksgiving there.

My wife and I decided that we wanted to spend our 19th wedding anniversary in the mountains with some friends. We came across this beautiful picturesque mountain view while searching on VRBO and decided to stay here because it had all of the accommodations we needed. We are so glad that we chose this place! We had a great time with our friends! If you are looking for a place to unwind and get away from the busyness of everyday life this is the right place to stay. The view is awe inspiring and serene. Would definitely recommend this cozy getaway.

The property is wonderful & the views are so amazingly beautiful! This is our 3rd time staying here so you know we truly love & enjoy this place. However, there were a couple things that had changed.. there is a cost now involved with the 2nd bundle of wood for the firepit & the gas fireplace is now seasonal which we had not dealt with previously. We were there later this year in Oct. 2024 than last year in Oct.2023 so we were expecting to use the fireplace & enjoy it with our morning coffee...not this time...ha.. it's the little things :) Michelle & Shannon are great hosts & it is a lovely soulful place.. the Kiley's

We have stayed in Eagle's Nest a few times now and each time has been excellent. Shannon and Michelle are easy to communicate with and very accommodating. The beds are very comfortable. And the view from the back of the cabin cannot be described as to how beautiful it is! Words do not do it justice, it must be seen to truly be appreciated. We are amazed each time we stay here and look forward to returning soon!

Unbeatable Views, great location!
Photos don’t lie, this home and view were just stunning!! Directions to the property were spot on, very easy to follow. Communication with the owners was always prompt. I was worried about the town after Hurricane Helene, but they assured me the town and cabins were fine and ready for visitors. The fall colors were just starting to really pop towards the end of our trip, so watching the sun’s orange glow on the trees was unreal. We originally booked for 4 but brought my mother in law since the listing said it slept 6 people. When we arrived, the cabin had exactly 4 sets of towels and washcloths, and no extra bedding for the sofa bed. I texted Michelle and she sent the PM right away with extra towels and bedding. I grabbed the bedding from her but she asked to bring in the basket of towels. I was slightly embarrassed since my teenage boys were sprawled out in the living room but of course let her in. She just came in, looked around for a second and set the towels on the counter, it was all very quick and again, so prompt so we appreciated that! There is an extra charge per person after the 4th, which is in the fine print so I didn’t have an issue with it and it’s definitely our fault for changing the number of guests. I just wanted to point that out for future travelers so you make sure you book with the exact number of people actually going so you have enough towels and bedding. We truly loved our stay here, we watched the bald eagle for hours and just enjoyed the property.

We just returned from an unforgettable stay at Eagle’s Nest, where we celebrated my wife’s 50th birthday in style! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views of Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains. The serene landscape provided the perfect backdrop for a special getaway. The cabin itself is a masterpiece, built with an incredible attention to detail by local artisans. Every corner is adorned with unique artwork and handcrafted furniture, creating a cozy yet luxurious atmosphere. The fact that it is completely fragrance-free and chemical-free made our stay even more enjoyable, as we felt completely at ease in such a healthy environment. One of the highlights of our trip was witnessing the Northern Lights—an awe-inspiring experience we’ll never forget! We also appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the comfortable living spaces, which made it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. The outdoor fire pit was a perfect spot for evening relaxation under the stars. Eagle’s Nest is ideally located near a plethora of outdoor activities. We enjoyed hiking, kayaking, and exploring the charming shops in Bryson City. It’s easy to see why this area is consistently ranked among the best outdoor destinations! We recently spent six nights here and the property was as described. Spectacular view overlooking the river in the mountains. The beds were very, very comfortable. Host was very good with communication. I give this property a five star but in reality I would give it a 4.9. The reason being is that there is no dining area and the barstools are very high so eating at the counter top requires your hips at countertop level. Spoke to the owner and they will be replacing the stools, which is a good move, also I would suggest improving the lighting in the kitchen, quite dark. With that said, I highly recommend a visit to Eagles nest. Also make note that there are three cabins on the property.

I would highly recommend staying here. It was very clean and cozy with amazing views. We saw an eagle right after arriving. There are 2 cabins close but you have bushes/trees blocking the other houses so it did not bother me or my wife any. Host was very detailed on directions to cabin.

We had the most wonderful time staying at this property. The views really do take your breath away and the night sky was gorgeous during our stay. We also saw eagles on a couple of occasions. The property is very clean and was perfect for 2 couples and a child. All the essentials required were provided for and we had everything that we needed. Would highly recommend!
