Family vacation
There were 11 of us that stayed at this house. Ages 8-72. We were very impressed with the views - and really enjoyed seeing the gulf of Mexico. There were always birds of all kinds to be seen and one day we saw dolphins out in the distance! We from MI weather and was looking forward to the 'heated" pool and "hot" tub. That being said - we were very disappointed with the the limited ability to enjoy using the pool and hot tub.We understood that the weather was very cold for FL but the discription of those amenities were misleading. The manager of the property did inform me, after I texted (asking why the hot tub wasn't warming up after an hour of having it turned on)-that the hot tub may have a hard time keeping up to temperature. But it wasn't until after I called the manager and left a message, did I receive an email (hours later) explaining the type of heating system they have for the pool and hot tub. They have a heat pump and it truly isn't designed for cooler weather and for keeping the pool and hot tub up to a tolerable temperature. We understood at that point that we wouldn't be able to enjoy being in the water like we thought - all 11 of us were VERY frustrated. If the information about the heating system would have been in the discription - we would not have stayed at this house. The email wasn't sent to me until Friday- 3 days after we arrived... 3 days of going back and forth with the manager and trying to understand why the hot tub wasn't tolerable

I stayed here with 8 friends on a golf / fishing trip and it was a really great spot. We had tons of space. The dock was great for fishing. The pool and yard were well kept and spacious I would highly recommend

Amazing amenities and view
We spent a long weekend at this property with 9 of my girlfriends. This home had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked, bathrooms with plenty of towels and lots of pool towels as well. The outdoor area is truly an oasis. Sunrises from one side of the house and sunsets from the other. I cannot recommend this home enough.

Beautiful Get-away
Exactly as listed...a beautiful home with everything we needed. Rented the pontoon boat and enjoyed a day on the water along with a stop at a restaurant for lunch. Pool was exactly what we needed, so relaxing along with floats. Evening hours spent playing games which were there. The owner was very helpful with any questions we had and very quick to respond. We will return.

Our Team needed a place to spread out cool off and bee close to the race area. This was the perfect location. Everyone had they own area to do personal work as well as gather to discuss the race boat duties to get done for the next day.

Amazing house with even better views!
We could not be happier with our stay. The home was perfect for our large family and kids. The owner was awesome and came to the property and it was great hearing the history of the property. Pontoon boat on site was the biggest plus. We will be back!

Wonderful property, well stocked kitchen, spacious interior ... large landscaped yard with pool and use of kayaks. The owner allowed us to rent the pontoon boat and took the time to come over to show us details regarding same and where to go/dine from the water. Very responsive. Our family had a great get away - even teenagers weren't bored!

Went to Sarasota for Graduation. Perfect home for 3 generations of family to stay. Beautiful property on a baby peninsula into the bay, island right across the way where birds came to roost for the night. Lovely to just sit and watch the bay, but also awesome pool and really enjoyed adding pontoon boat rental. Able to cook most meals at home. Great location for accessing Sarasota and Bradenton schools/restaurants/beaches but also didn’t have much desire to leave the house.

Our stay which included teens, parents, grandparents and a friend was amazing! The house is perfect for our group of all ages…even better than the listing as you can never fully capture a gorgeous view in a photograph! The pool, fishing dock and pontoon boat rental made our stay adventure packed. The house is beautifully decorated and spacious for larger groups. The owner kindly extended our check-out time as we had a later flight and recommended some great places to eat. We all would absolutely recommend this property and are hopeful we can head back this way to stay again sometime in the future.

Incredible Family Vacation
We were a family of 9 ranging from 11-82 staying at the Bay House for a week. As a property manager in Maine, this was my first time on the guest side of renting and it's going to be hard to top; the home and property were simply incredible! Everything was clean, the views were amazing, and everyone had enough space to gather together or spread out and have some down time. The large windows and stone fireplace in the living room are gorgeous, and the large master shower/bath was definitely a favorite. Our 12 year old loved fishing off the dock for fish and for crabs. We rented the pontoon from the owner, he was great, so friendly and showed us where to navigate in the area and answered any questions we had. Can not recommend this property enough, the sunrises are just as good as the sunsets, and watching them from the pool and hot tub can't be beat! Hope to stay again in the future

Friends and Family Wedding weekend
We had a wonderful week at the beautiful Bay House retreat! The home was beautiful, the grounds were stunning, and the owners responded so fast when we needed anything. We are definitely looking forward to staying here again...hopefully in warmer weather when we can enjoy the gorgeous pool and rent the boat. They truly thought of everything and we could not have been more appreciative. We loved it!

This property is gorgeous from front to back and side to side. We fished, swam, walked the gardens, we even rented the pontoon boat and went to lunch, saw tons of dolphins! Highly recommend this site

What a beautiful home. We enjoyed the pool, the fishing, the pontoon boat. The home owners were so helpful renting the pontoon boat. He took us out, showed us all the do's & dont's and all the great places to go. What great memories! Highly recommended!

Gorgeous ocean view home!!
We stayed in the Bay House Retreat for one and a half week and had a wonderful time. We were a family of 9, including our young daughters of 3 and 5. Age range from 3 to 82 in fact. All of us were impressed with the home and fell in love with the gardens, the pool and the ocean views. It was perfectly clean when we arrived, beds were made, towels were available and some basic food necessities (salt, pepper, oil, coffee, sugar etc) were there. The instructions for the renters are on a digital screen in the dining room. Apart from instructions, tips and maps are provided digitally for restaurants, sights etc. The pool was cleaned twice when we were there and the gardens were maintained twice as well. Canoes were available for free and the house has two docks in case you own or rent a boat. We rented a pontoon boat, but were not aware that it is possbible to simply rent to pontoon boat that is docked at the property. That might be something to communicate better to future renters, because it a great option if you like being on the water. But all in all, we would love to come back and give this place 5 stars out of 5. Would give a 6 star review if it were possible!

Second stay at this house. The plusses are that the property is stunning, the house is large and good for groups, the pool is great, the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, pots and pans and the management company is responsive. We called on a Saturday evening when the air conditioning stopped working and they sent someone out right away. The house is dated, but the photos online show it exactly as it is so no disappointment there. But there are negatives. After we stayed here last year, rather than give a negative review, I sent a private message to the management company, telling them that for a house that costs thousands to rent for a week, I would expect them to offer more than one roll of one-ply toilet paper per bathroom per stay, and some soap, shampoo and conditioner in the showers. The answer was that they would pass along the message. Unfortunately, this year, the house offered even less. There was still only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and they through in packs in each bathroom with soap, and a small bottles of shampoo, etc., the kind you would find in a Days Inn for one night (I get that this is in the fine print, but again, for the amount they charge, would it kill them to leave enough toilet paper and personal products for the week?), there was no dishwashing liquid, sponges or paper towels in the kitchen, a lot of the pots and pans in the cupboard were dirty, there were dirty throw pillows on the beds, and several of the lamps in the bedrooms didn't work. There were only three beach towels in the basket by the pool for a house that advertises it sleeps 12. This house could be so much more with a tiny spend and a little effort by the management company. Date of arrival - April 5, 2023 Reservation ID #14409

Our favorite rental property yet!
We absolutely loved this property and will definitely come back. It was perfectly clean and perfectly private. The pool was warm for spring break, as promised. We’ve been promised these things at all our previous rentals, but this one actually delivered, and that’s why we will be back!
