Juniper Ridge 5 BR Family Cabin

The Juniper Ridge Family Cabin is one of our most "western" accommodations, featuring wrap around deck, fantastic views, TV-DVD, WIFI, picnic table, full kitchen, dining room table, all linens, washer & dryer, night sky viewing, sunrise, sunset.

The Juniper Ridge Family Cabin (located 3 miles north of Blanding, Utah) is truly one of our most western cabin accommodations, featuring wrap around deck, fire pit, TV, DVD, WIFI, picnic table, fully furnished kitchen, dining room table, all linens, washer & dryer! Sleeps up to 10+ people including adults and children.
A one-of-a-kind vacation cabin, set alone on Blue Mountain Road with a 360-degree view in all directions as far as the eye can see, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah! Relax on the large deck in the sun or shade. The Juniper Ridge Family Cabin makes you feel secluded, while just two miles away lies the most popular lake in San Juan County - great for swimming, fishing, boating, and water sports!
Inside, you'll find much more space than you anticipated - with stunning vaulted ceilings, 5 bedrooms, 2 baths, a full kitchen, wood-burning stove, a very spacious living room, and cozy sofas!
Four of the bedrooms have a Queen Bed for comfort. The last bedroom has a twin bunk bed.
All linens (towels, sheets, blankets, pillows, etc.) are provided for you. The kitchen is also stocked with all the cooking and serving utensils - all you bring is the food and condiments!
WIFI, TV, and DVD are provided at no additional cost - that is of course if you ever have time to use them. Our guess is, you'll be so busy exploring all the popular national and state parks and monuments in southeast Utah - that's right, the Juniper Ridge Family Cabin is located centrally among more than a dozen of them!

(Please note: the house is NOT pet-friendly).
We would like to go on and on, but the photos of the cabin are worth a thousand words! Please feel free to ask any questions you may have or use the availability calendar to check for availability online when you're ready. We look forward to your stay!

Perfect house for our large family
Cozy, spacious home. Each of our children had their own space. Close enough to town for easy access, but far enough away for peace and quiet. Felt like home.

Rural feel, but close to town
This property was perfect for us. We were a party of 4 Utahns with 3 of our British cousins. We wanted to have an intimate gathering and show our Brits the beauties of Utah. This property was just what we needed. We could all stay together, eat around one big table, cook our meals in the large kitchen, do our laundry and travel to the beauties of Moab, Blanding, Bluff and so forth!!

Great place in Blanding, UT
Property owner was really great to talk with and gave us some great information about the area. We loved the house, only drawback was the somewhat difficult, narrow spiral staircase leading to the three bedrooms downstairs. But overall, we were very pleased with the house and the solitude it offered and the very convenient location.

Perfect for a group of friends
This was our second time staying at this home. As with our previously stay, the cabin was delightful and everyone loved it. It's spacious, furnished well and the owners' eclectic interests are evident in every room. The kitchen and dining rooms are designed for groups and the many doors (5 on the main level) make it accessible. Located in a quiet, rural neighborhood, there's plenty of privacy, and stunning views spanning from Blue Mountain to Shiprock. At night the skies are crystal clear for star viewing. There's plenty of parking, even for several truck/trailer combos, and the owners are very responsive even when out of town. If there are any cons, they are minor: The driveway is home to numerous red ants, and I was badly stung by one that crawled up inside my pant leg. The many large windows mean the house heats up in the daytime, but it cools down nicely from the evening breezes. Since we were gone during the day, this wasn't a big deal. There is a small air conditioner but it's inadequate for such a large house. And the kitchen could use some seasonings besides salt and pepper, some cooking oil, and some large drinking glasses. Finally, be aware that the spiral staircase between upper and lower levels is VERY TIGHT, and a quite large person may not fit through it. But these are minor issues. All in all, we highly recommend this property!

Nice place
We enjoyed gathering back to the old homestead. The lazy Susan was great for meals, but not the best for playing games. Other than the spiral staircase everything was wonderful.

We had a great time here. It was the perfect spot to do a day trip to Monument Valley and see the museums in Blanding. The home is beautiful and there was plenty of space. The kids loved the new treehouse. The wildlife out here was quite surprising. We enjoyed our stay.

Great family cabin
We enjoyed our stay at Juniper Ridge. The cabin was quaint and unassuming...a little quirky but that added to the charm. One thing I might adjust is adding some shades to the south/east SUN facing windows. The solar gain was incredible at heating the house and was a little problematic when cooking breakfast in the kitchen. So bright. the hosts were great at communicating and we enjoyed our visit. Especially the sweet stray cat that wanted loves whenever you went outside. We named it JuniPURR. We almost took it home but then I came to my senses.

Central location for all the national parks nearby
We enjoyed our stay at the Juniper Ridge Cabin. It was central to all of the national parks we wanted to visit while on our trip. It was also close to the local grocery store. The house is plenty big enough for everyone to spread out. A few things to keep in mind - to get to the lower level, where nearly all the bedrooms are, you need to go down an extremely narrow spiral staircase (or go outside and around). This made it difficult to carry our belongings up and and down the stairs and for our 70-something parents to use the lower level. This lower level is also where the only television is. The kitchen needs some updates in terms of pots, pans, baking pans, cutting boards and bowls. Most everything is well past its useful life. The dining room table was great - it seats a large family and was perfect for card games. The on-site laundry was a must for us. With a few improvements this could be perfect, but for people that don't need to cook and don't have any issues with the spiral staircase, this is a great vacation spot.

Beautiful, unique cabin
A little on the rustic side, but we sure enjoyed checking out all the beautiful woodwork, and the views were incredible. Be aware that most of the bedrooms r in the basement and there is a rather tight spiral staircase to get down there. Great area. Thanks!

Awesome Property
This is a great property with access to the amazing area of this corner of Utah. The area has great outdoor activities including hiking, OHV rides, historical sites to explore, and beautiful vistas to enjoy ranging from the mountains to the sandstone formations of Comb Ridge and Cedar Mesa. It's a great property for a group of family and friends with nice gathering areas and ample sleeping quarters. There are very fun and interesting informational gems that share a personal touch from the owners who open not only their home, but their hearts as well to make you feel welcome and invite you to return. Thank you for an awesome facility for our trip.

Great Place to Stay!
This place was really great! The location was amazing--not too far from Moab, Hovenweep National Monument, Valley of the Gods, Edge of the Cedars State Park and so many other great places, and not too far from the main road but far enough to not hear road noise. The house itself was spacious--we had four adults and nine kids and we easily fit with room to spare. The kitchen is huge and is fully stocked with pots, pans, bowls, plates, silverware, etc. The kitchen table is a huge round table that fit all our party well. We had to do a bit of laundry and it was so nice to have a washer and dryer on-site. Check in and check out were simple. Parking space is ample. The only two things I would note that I wish had known were that to get to the bottom level, you have to take very narrow, spiral stairs to get down unless you want to go around outside (which isn't a huge deal). We have a six year old who doesn't walk and getting him up and down those stairs was pretty difficult. I think some other reviewers mentioned that but for some reason it didn't really register. The other thing was, there were a few breakable things around the house that we had to move as soon as we got there. The dining room table has a lazy Susan on it and on top of that was a large porcelain vase. The kids found it before I did and almost spun it off. This house is mostly family friendly but it would be nice if things like that were removed so people with kids wouldn't have to worry about breaking things. Overall we had a great experience and would stay here again!

Juniper Ridge
We enjoyed our stay at Juniper Ridge. We each had our own bedroom and the beds were all very comfortable. We really appreciated your book of information regarding hikes and places to visit in the area with detailed driving directions and fantastic photos. Thank you. We also liked the lazy susan in the middle of the dining table. The views of the mountains also delightful and it was so peaceful for a good nights sleep. We also loved the location nearby to Natural Bridges National Monument and Bears Ears NM. So many wonderful hikes and ancient ruins.
