"This is a beautiful historic motel in downtown Beaufort. Rooms are very clean. Upstairs rooms also are very clean, but there are remnants smells typical of quaint antebellum homes. There is no elevator, except for a small 2-person lift for handicapped. Plan to heft your luggage up and down stairs. Breakfast was lovely with a full hot and cold buffet. "

"We were greeted by Patricia and she was both welcoming and knowledgeable about the historic property. We had some cleanliness issues and Patricia moved us to a new room. We had to overlook some cleanliness issues with the bathtub in the second room and only used the shower. Housekeeping has such an important role and they need to better understand the impact they have on guests. "
