The Cabin at Maggie's Farm on rushing Tucker Creek, trout pond, Blue Ridge Pkwy

Welcome to our cabin at Maggie's Farm, a peaceful mountain getaway nearby to the Asheville airport and the quaint town of Brevard. Maggie's farm offers a wonderful mountain vacation. The outside fire pit is a great place to relax and take in some star gazing. If you need more space, we also have a 3 bedroom 2 bath that sleeps 6 with its own private spot on Tucker Creek, listing #4968034. The Living Waters waterfalls are just down the street. Our little town is called Brevard, it is the county seat and a very quaint college town with sidewalk cafes, restaurants, breweries, art and music with lot of outdoor activities on the rivers and mountain trails. We are close to all of the Western North Carolina attractions, The Biltmore, Sliding Rock, The Blue Ridge Parkway, Breweries, Maggie Valley, Cherokee Casino, Hendersonville, Waynesville, mountain hiking and biking, canoe, tubing, zip lining trout fishing and more. It's a place you will want to return over and over again. We have a stocked pond with Rainbow trout, Channel catfish, & Bream along with a trout stream with natural brown trout. You can completely relax and rejuvenate here. The cabin is very very clean, immaculate, fresh and updated. It has a large fully equipped eat in kitchen, both bedrooms have quality, comfortable queen sized beds with memory foam for a restful nights sleep. The back covered deck is a great place to hang out, relax, read a book, or try your fishing skills for native brown trout. The huge patio overlooks crystal clear Tucker Creek, (10 feet wide and 1-4 feet deep) and features a gas BBQ grill, with patio table & chairs. Tucker Creek is a cold water creek that is full of quartz crystal rocks. The cabin borders thousands of acres of the PISGAH NATIONAL FOREST with Trailheads and Forestry roads all around. The wildlife abounds. You may see turkey, deer, bear, Canadian geese, ducks, blue heron, Bald Eagles and more.
Maggie's Farm is also a beautiful spot for an elopement wedding by the creek.
On Maggie's Farm we have a large variety of fruit trees including Apple, Pear, and Peach. We also grow blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, walnut, asparagus, potatoes and many other vegetables and herbs. Across the street from Maggie's is a beautiful field of cows with the mountains as a background.
There are many beautiful nearby waterfalls. Maggie's is Located in Balsam Grove, Transylvania County, which is also known as the 'LAND OF WATERFALLS.' There are over 250 waterfalls to enjoy HIKING, BIKING, photographing, and picnicking. Maggie's is at an elevation of 3000 feet and only 10 miles to the scenic BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY, a beautiful drive to take to the Biltmore, enjoy lunch or dinner at the Pisgah Inn with amazing views, or Cherokee where Harrah's casino is located. Parkway Road (Hwy 215) is likened to the tail of the dragon for mountain bikers and motorcyclists. Go FLY Fishing or tubing on nearby Davidson or French Broad Rivers. There are 3 lakes nearby for swimming, fishing, kayaking, Wolf Lake Tanasee Creek Lake, and Bear Lake. Maggie's is an easy drive with all good paved roads, I-95 to I-26 out of Asheville and you're almost there. Let the calming sound of the creek put you to sleep at night. Beautiful mountain views all around. The Pisgah Astronomical Research Center (PARI), is just a few minutes by car, it was a NASA Tracking Station and now is a Research Center where you can visit and view the sky through their huge telescopes. We are pet friendly, 2 friendly dogs max.

What a great place! We stayed a week, there was sun there was rain, and even ice on the grass! Loved feeding the fish! Pisgah National forest has lots of things to do. Waterfalls, hiking, scenic views, and having a comfortable warm place to return to was fabulous. Mark and Jacquie were wonderful hosts! We plan on returning!

Perfect vacation spot to reconnect with your partner.
Mark and Jacquie are awesome hosts. The gardens placed throughout the property were amazing from flower beds to veggies. They made us feel at home. We are definitely going back, we have not been so relaxed in a very long time. Thanks to the Hatch’s little piece of paradise.

We stayed a week and absolutely loved our stay. If you’re looking for serenity and beauty that surrounds you like a hug, you’ll want to stay at Maggie’s. We’ll be back with and without family since you can’t absorb all all there is in just 1 visit. Strongly suggest grabbing breakfast items and any grocery type before you get to the cabin(s). You’ll be happy you did because you just want to stay on the farm.

Clean, comfortable and quiet stay in God’s country.
Thoroughly enjoyed a very comfortable escape from the busyness of life in this little house on top of a mountain in Balsam Grove. We loved the peace and quiet and close proximity to hiking trails and waterfalls. We also appreciated having a washer and dryer in the house! Only con was being nearly 40 minutes from the town of Brevard. Owners were very helpful and the landscape was beautiful. It was the perfect place to rest and relax and enjoy a good book or movie!

Fishing trip
We had a fantastic stay at Mark and Jacquies place. It was the perfect size house for 3 adults and 1 dog. They provided everything you needed, the fishing pond was a fun way to start your day and ending with a fire in the fire pit. Our dog had plenty of freedom to run around and explore. The area was close to great fishing, restaurants and ice cream. Peaceful, relaxing time had by all. Thank you

Family Place
My little family stayed here and we loved the little cabin. The best part was my puppy had there two dogs to play with and a creek to get wet in so he was actually upset when we left. It was clean and we did not run in to any problems during our stay. Mark and Jaquie are some of the nicest people my husband and I have ever met. They were easy to talk to and we really loved the little spot.

Beautiful location and lovely hosts
We stayed at Maggie’s Farm this August and I can’t say enough good things about the location and the hosts! Desperately needed a peaceful and restful getaway after the loss of my Mom. The accommodations were excellent, cozy and inviting. Everything you could possibly need was provided by the hosts. We brought our mini Pomeranian with us and she loves the creek. The vegetable and flower gardens were beautiful and we enjoyed fishing and and the local waterfalls. Jacquie and Mark incredibly warm and kind and really made our visit even more special. They made us feel welcome and are truly the heart of this amazing place. We will definitely be back and hope to bring our kids in the future.

Amazing Place to stay!
My wife and I chose this house as our little retreat for our 10th anniversary. We were not disappointed! Mark and Jacquie were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed the fresh veggies they brought us and petting their adorable dogs. We caught some brook trout in the creek and chose to only catch one rainbow trout from the pond. We could have easily caught more but knew we had plenty to eat with what we already had. We would definitely recommend staying here to everyone. Already looking forward to our next trip!

We will be back
We absolutely loved our stay at Maggie’s Farm! Mark and Jacquie are a joy and we loved our daily chats with Mark about his garden and the surrounding areas. Our boys loved playing in the creek and fishing .. we brought no toys with us and the boys were very much entertained by nature , we even built a fairy garden by the creek . The kitchen was well equipped with everything need. We’ve already started planning our trip back for next summer and have recommended Maggie’s Farm to family and friends . Thank you Mark and Jacquie!

Cute house for a get away!
This is a clean house and great, helpful hosts! It had everything we needed for our brief stay. The beds were comfortable and the furnishings were ok. There is a high kitchen table that may be difficult for people with limited mobility or young children. This is an older home with older appliances and furnishings but everything worked well and were good for our stay. Unfortunately and sadly we were not able to use the covered porch due to cooler temps while we were there. The sheep were friendly and we enjoyed visiting with them and feeding them daily. The house is located on a long curvy road outside of the city. I would not recommend traveling there for the 1st time at night if at all possible. We had a good stay and would recommend this property. It is not a place that is in a remote location in reference to other houses/properties. Well kept house, generous hosts, and fun location for kids with creek and sheep are the best qualities of this rental!

Just what our family needed!
The hosts were absolutely amazing. The cabin was very comfortable. Maggie's Farm is such a serene property. The creek was soothing and cool. We enjoyed wading in it. One morning my husband and I were having our coffee on the porch and a fawn was wading in the creek. We saw a number of deer during our stay. Jacquie and Mark warmly welcomed us throughout our stay. They gave us flowers from their garden upon our arrival. Jacquie invited me into their home to see her jewelry collection and I bought a few pieces. Our 10 year old grandson had an over the top experience fishing in the pond. He caught 4 trout and one was quite sizeable-a lifelong memory for our family. My husband and son grilled the trout for our evening meal. One night we had a fire and had smores under the stars with the gentle country sounds. Mark gave us vegetables from his garden as a going away gift. We had such a grand family time of connection and renewal. We are grateful for our experience at Maggie's Farm!!!!

Peaceful environment and delightful hosts
The moment I stepped onto the back porch and heard the sounds of the farm, most notably cascading water, bleating sheep and occasionally the braying of Smoky across the street, I felt myself exhale and by body relax, releasing tension and stress and settling into a calm, restful state. It's a beautiful place. Mark and Jacquie are colorful characters - warm, wonderful and fun! There are a couple things that might be helpful to prepare for when visiting Maggie's Farm. First, while the driveway to the main house is graveled, parking for the cabin is in the grass. In wet conditions (which was very much the case during our stay), the ground can be very soft and muddy. We were concerned about being able to get in and out, but we backed in and it didn't turn out to be as difficult as we thought. Second, the three (wonderful) dogs bound around the farm (rightfully) when they are out helping with chores. For many fur families, this will not be an issue. Our PJ isn't as responsive to commands as we'd like her to be, so she was on leash whenever we were out of the cabin. Our first encounter was a little tricky, but Mark was very accommodating once he understood that three unleashed large dogs to one leashed medium dog was a somewhat overwhelming ratio for us. In fact, we were able to make special arrangements for PJ and Violet to run and play freely together in a great fenced pasture! My family will definitely return. Part of me wishes we could take up residence there. In fact, we did extend our stay for an extra night because it was just too hard to leave. If what you need is time and space to relax, recover and just be - I can't imagine a better place the Maggie's farm!

A little slice of paradise
This cabin is just a few miles from our house and was rented for family members as we did not have enough room at our home. We all ended up spending some time there relaxing or fishing with grandkids. House was cozy and clean, Mountain View’s were great, Host Mark made sure everyone had what was needed.

Wonderful time
We had a wonderful time at Mark and Jacqueline’s cabin. They were so helpful and kind. The cabin was perfect for a laid back, relaxing week. It was well stocked with essentials and a great location with stream, trout pond, and other fun things that entertained our 3 year old son. It was also close to Brevard and the Pisgah National Forest so it gave us plenty of opportunity to go out and explore. We would definitely stay there again!
