2023 TOTAL RENOVATION. Amazing Ocean Views 2 Bedrooms, 2. Baths, (Sleeps 6 and 8 using a sleeper sofa). At "Al Mare" you will enjoy the spectacular views of the ocean from this home which is steps from the beach. Sit on the sofa or upper or lower open decks and watch the dolphins in the water The sunsets are gorgeous!

Al Mare is ideal and comfortable for small families or two couples, girl's weekend away or men's golf trips. This home has two suites; one with a king bed, en-suite bathroom with oversized shower; The second bedroom has two full beds and full bath. Comfortable living room with a sleeper sofa, dining room and kitchen all flow to an upper deck overlooking the ocean. Great porches - front and back give you wonderful outdoor living space.

The open floor plan in the Kitchen/Dining/Living allows everyone to socialize in the fully stocked kitchen with open access to the deck overlooking the ocean. Sunset views in the evening are amazing. Al Mare is in the desirable Flora's Bluff - a prime location on Bald Head Island. steps to a beach access for the cottages. Very close to everything - the BHI club, restaurants, shops and the marina Head Island Club. The home is also well situated with a large open area in front for the children to play at the end of the cul-de-sac and a small fenced yard for pets and to enjoy a gathering around the BBQ.

A very short cart ride gets you to the new BHI Club Aquatic Center which features 4 new tennis courts, a playground, short-grass recreational area, workout facility, multiple swimming pools and water slide, croquet course, casual and fine dining and, of course, the George Cobb designed, award winning 18-hole golf course.

Bald Head Island is only accessible by boat or by a ferry, which departs frequently out of Southport, NC. Southport is 40 minutes from the Wilmington, NC (ILM) airport. A tram ride to the villa is included with your ferry ticket. Reservations are required. Visitors and residents travel around the island by golf cart, bike or by foot.

This house comes with a 6-seat golf cart, 2 adult beach bikes, 4 new beach chairs, boogie boards and an abundance of beach toys, and an umbrella. Please bring your own helmets. Additional bikes can also be rented at Riverside Adventure. Please note that while we guarantee the availability and condition of the golf carts, we cannot guarantee the condition of the bikes.

Climb to the top of “Old Baldy,” which is the oldest lighthouse on the East coast. It was built in 1817 and originally commissioned by Thomas Jefferson. Hike and wind your way around live oaks hundreds of years old and through the nature paths that Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers used in the ancient Maritime Forest. An upscale grocery market, spa, and shopping area is a short golf cart ride away. Discover the Bald Head Island Conservancy at the end of South Beach, where you can learn about the island’s wildlife.

We have a professional property manager who lives full time on the island to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They will be able to help with any concerns once you arrive.

Bald Head Island is on one of North Carolina's southernmost cape islands - Cape Fear. With no cars and no crowds, Bald Head Island preserves the natural beauty and stress-free lifestyle of a simpler time. Great Getaway
Great place to stay for a small family. Even though it was cold and windy, we loved the close access to the beach and would go every morning. Nicely decorated and had all the amenities you would need for your stay. Would love to come back in summer!

Fabulous beach house
This was a cute beach house, the house had a great location and our multigenerational group loved the layout. It was easy to get to the beach, hose off and enjoy the sunset. Perfect spot for our family
We took our family for a long weekend and loved this gem! Floras bluff is on of my favorite places on the island and This house was perfect! The reverse floor plan made sitting out on the top deck for coffee or a glass of wine even better with views of the ocean! The house was well stocked & Barbara was very attentive and on point to our needs and checked in to make sure we were enjoying our stay.

Great time in a great house
This house has been newly renovated, has new furnishings, a well-equipped kitchen, and is steps from the ocean on a quiet cul-de-sac. The top floor (reverse floor plan with common areas on the top floor) is lined with windows for great views of the ocean all day long. The property manager we spoke to (they are on the island) was very responsive and even provided a (new) slow cooker for our New Year’s Day meal. Check in and check out was simple. These property managers know what they’re doing—provided an excellent experience on Bald Head.

Bald Head never disappoints
Cute house perfect for the 4 of us. Great sunset view. So close to the sand, store, club. We rented bikes, ate at new jailhouse restaurant (so close) and it was perfect location to explore the island over and over! Cute decor in living room and great views while cooking or sitting on deck. The property manager Barbara was very attentive and sweet to deal with! Thanks Barabara! All in all great pick for this bald head trip!

Nice property
The property was newly remodeled, nicely furnished, and had nice finishes. Great neighborhood, close to beach. We had a small problem with our golf cart not wanting to go into reverse, and the property manager quickly assessed the issue and had it fixed promptly. The only downside is there is no 1/2 bath on the upper level (a reverse floor plan with kitchen, dining, living upstairs). But if steps are not a problem for you, then you will have no negatives.

Cute cottage and beautiful location
Would definitely recommend. Had a wonderful time. Enjoyed exploring the island on the bikes and getting around by golf cart. All worked well. Beautiful view of dunes on both sides from deck - short walk to beach just over the dunes. Hose and shower faucet on boardwalk to wash sand off. Comfy beds. I understand new owners will be remodeling bathrooms and kitchen. Current ones work fine but are dated. Hope we can come back to stay there again. Had a wonderful time.

Nostalgic get away!
We've been coming to BHI for 27 years and we think this was the original house that started it all! Of course it has been updated since then. This house is decorated very nice, the beds are very comfortable, and air conditioning and hot water are great. New appliances in the kitchen , along with new cookware and utensils made cooking nice. We had a couple of minor hiccups with the freezer and the TV, but the property manager was quick to respond. You can't have a bad time at BHI.

Loved Bald Head Island
So glad we discovered baldhead island. It is absolutely amazing there. This house was quaint and sweet. Loved having the golf cart and bikes on hand. The property manager, Barbara, was outstanding. She tended to every need or hiccup we had. Just a few recommendations for the owner. The couch bed definitely needs updated if someone is going to use it. Not pleasurable for sleep. We would also recommend some privacy shades at the front door and in the family room doors leading to the deck. That way if someone is using the couch bed or if you are just walking around at night you are not living in a fishbowl. Otherwise, we would definitely stay here again. We had the most amazing weekend.

All around great stay!
Our family of 4 had a great stay at this property. We have been to Bald Head many times before and it never disappoints. House has been very nicely renovated on the inside and is right across from the beach. The location is truly amazing! You have ocean views from the upper deck just off of the main living area/kitchen. Unfortunately we were there during hurricane Idalia (I think that was the name) so it shut everything down on the island for about a day and a half. Property management was terrific about bringing us a couple of board games upon request, and ponchos for the rain. I would say that is one of the only negative things about the property is that the gold cart does not have rain protection flaps that you can zip down on the sides so it is almost impossible to drive anywhere when it is heavily raining. Property manager was also excellent to communicate with us and help us with tram reservations off the island at the last minute since we somehow didn’t have them! Lastly, we purchased a membership to BHI club which was fabulous. The club has had a major expansion and renovation since we last visited the island and it was well worth it!
