Perfect setting on the east side of Lake Victoria to enjoy this beautiful home and take in the gorgeous summer sunsets on the dock or on the large wraparound deck. This fantastic, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home features a master bedroom on the main level, a beautiful bonus sitting/eating area overlooking the lake, a full finished basement, and an upstairs sleeping area.

There is a dock available for tying a boat off and great fishing on this fabulous chain of lakes. There is also a children's playset and many fun things to do in the Alexandria Area.

Family getaway
Charming cabin for our family. Loved the table as we were able to sit around for meals and games. The dock was great for fishing off and was able to tie up a boat.

Nice place, needs some renovations
The place itself is very nice, but it is old and it shows. The main level is very nice but property could have been cleaned better as we had bugs everywhere and found a dead cockroach under a couch. Also would recommend for the property manager to get more basic cooking supplies in the rental (salt, pepper, oil) as we’ve had these provided previously at other stays as well as sending out an electronic version of the welcome binder prior to arrival as there were things in there we didn’t know and had to run errands after arriving. Also were missing the cushions for the patio furniture so they were unusable (make sure to bring camping chairs). Yard is small and doesn’t leave much room for games. We probably won’t stay here again unless renovations and improvements are made to fix the bug problem, especially in the basement, and cleaning up/improving the backyard.

On the lake close to bike trails
We had a lot of fun on lake Victoria! This house suited our family well. The three younger kids slept upstairs in the three twin beds our oldest daughter slept in the basement bedroom my husband and I had the main floor bedroom and our two-year-old was in the pack and play in the downstairs living room. Everyone was very comfortable. It was a lot of fun to keep our boat docked right outside the house, we also kept our kayaks outback and would lower them in from the dock when we wanted to go. There is a small park just a minutes walk or bike ride from the house, we liked to go there to play yard games and the younger kids enjoyed playing on the slides. It was also nice that it was just a five minute bike ride to the biking paths, which led anywhere you wanted to go, we took them to city Park and played there several times. It was also fun to boat through the channels to other lakes, we boated over to Zorbaz one day for lunch, probably took about 15 - 20 minutes to get there. The stairs going both up and down are extremely small and steep, beware if anyone has balance issues or for really young kids.

Difficult landscape
We really enjoyed the house. Very clean. Air conditioner worked Great! Always had hot water for ALL 8 of us showering. Our biggest dislike was the hill to the water. Quite dangerous. No steps down to the dock. Had to walk down very carefully. The cement steps right by the dock were uneven and broken. Not safe to use. The firepit was on the hill, so couldn't sit 'around' it, or the person with their back to the water would fall backwards towards the water. The steps to get to the house from the parking lot were in disarray. We caught ALOT of sunfish. Had a lot of water fun. The big deck was enjoyed by all.

We had a great time. Beautiful lake views and spacious deck to all be together. Loved the sun porch with windows on 3 sides to let the lake breeze flow through.

Family vacation on lake Victoria
Our group enjoyed our time on lake Victoria. The property was clean and accommodating. The kitchen was well stocked, we had everything we needed to make meals for our group of 9 (adults and kids ages 8-13). I will say, the wood floors are a bit squeaky and the main bathroom door sticks a little making it difficult to be quite when others are sleeping. As others have said, the stairs (both upstairs and to the downstairs) are steep so not as suitable for very young kids or those with mobility issues. The backyard has a hill down to the lake as well. The location is great! It’s located in a circle in a nice quite neighborhood with a nearby park. Very close the Alexandria, surrounding activities, restaurants, etc. We also enjoyed walking to the nearby walking / biking path that takes you right into town. Unfortunately, the lake water was low (we realize this is out of their control) making the dock unusable with our boat. It’s also quite weedy off the dock for swimming, but we had a Lilly pad that we were able to anchor a little further out so we made it work. The lake itself was fairly quite, not too many out boating or jet skiing making it too busy. We were a little disappointed that the yard wasn’t more suitable for our yard games. Also, parking two vehicles and a boat trailer was a little tricky, but again we made it work and the neighbors didn’t seem to mind our vehicles. Property Manager was accessible and responsive, we had one question and he personally stopped by to answer and check in. Overall, we had a great vacation!

Steep Stairs
This property is well located on Lake Victoria, although there are no "water toys" such as kayaks, paddle boards, floating mattresses, included with this rental property. That being said, this rental property is really only appropriate for young adults with absolutely no physical limitations, and even then, would be rather unsafe. The stairs to the upper and lower levels are dangerously steep. And there are numerous other repairs and maintenance that should be addressed immediately. Without significant improvements, I would not rent this property again.

Overall our vacation was great except for a few things. The bathtub on the main floor seal was very moldy. The stairs up and down too narrow and dangerous, expecially for children. We were lucky to escape serious injury to our 7 yr old when he only fell down the last 2 stairs. The grill was very dirty so I cleaned it, also emptying the drip pan which was full of debris, in anticipation of using it. When attempting to start, the ignition did not work so we were unable to use. This is why I like to view a property before I rent it and when I make the request it seems I always get an indignant response from the owner asking why I want to see it.

Father’s Day Cabin Getaway
We enjoyed spending lots of time playing games and visiting on the large upper deck with a view of the lake. The sun room also provided great views on the rainy/cold days. The backyard is a little steep so keep that in mind for the elders. We enjoyed using the fire pit every night for s’mores. The dock area was nice for floating on inflatables. We used it to dock my friend’s boat as well on & off for a day. Overall great experience and location!

FAMILY VACAY!
We truly enjoyed our stay on Lake Victoria! The house was very clean and comfortable and accommodated our family well. The lake was a perfect play lake for us ~ fishing, water skiing, wake skating, and tubing. The amenities provided made us feel right at home and we all enjoyed the large deck. Josh was great with communication and made the reservation and check in process seamless. Highly recommend!

We had the perfect house for us and the perfect weather... we needed this because of the way 2020 has been. We just had time to focus on family time. Relaxing, time on the lake. Josh was great to communicate with questions.

The cabin was clean and nicely stocked with kitchen needs. The third level bedroom was not very satisfactory with a "tired" air conditioner that fluctuated between hot and cold and a broken bannister leading up to it. The dock is in need of repair and feels unsteady as you walk on it. With that said, we enjoyed our stay and feel we would go back if these minor items were attended to.

Relaxing Get Away
Overall, we were pleased with our stay at Lake Victoria. Enjoyed access to the other lakes as well. This VRBO is spacious - in fact there were areas in this house that the six of us did not use. The grill on the deck did not light properly and could have used a good cleaning before our arrival. Also, noting that there is a grill and firepit available for use would be helpful. We did not realize we would need to bring our own firewood. It's nice to know these things ahead so one doesn't need to run errands while relaxing at the lake. We would recommend this VRBO to others! Thanks for the good management communication at check in and a relaxing stay!

Annual Family Vacation
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We really enjoyed the sun room and large deck that both overlooked the lake. Its on a very quiet little dead end street. It also has a good size playground set as well as a nice little park just down the street. Josh (the property manager) was very accessible for questions and needs, and open to the various suggestions we offered. The two bedrooms were very nice and on different levels from each other, while the open room upstairs offered additional sleeping accommodations. Note: The steps going upstairs and downstairs are both very narrow and steep so, if you have anyone who might have problems with stairs, plan on them staying on the main level. If you bring a boat, being on the chain was great, as we caught all types of fish in many locations on multiple lakes. And it was nice to simply be able to go out for boat rides and check out places on other lakes without having to drag the boat and and out of the water. But know that the dock area is really not conducive for swimming as the area is very weedy and the rip-rap on the shore doesn't allow for easy access into the water. But the Le Homme Dieu beach is very nice and just a couple miles down the road. The back yard is steeper then the photos show (in terms of trying to play yard games), but there is a fire pit and a nice two person porch swing for evening bonfires, but you'll need to either bring your own wood or purchase some from one of the local sources. Would definitely return to this property in the future.

Beautiful Location and Lake
This house provided perfect access to Lake Victoria. Stunning views of the lake from the main level, which include from the dining room, living room, wonderful sun porch & huge deck. Main level master bedroom was great and the kitchen had enough room for many to get around. House was within steps of the lake, which was great. Indoor stairs going up and down were steep, but allowed access to the other bedrooms. Mini-fridge in the basement bar allowed for additional beverages to be chilled. Not a big property and could use some landscaping help, especially on the playground and the shoreline.

Easy Communication
Josh, the property manager, was very easy to get a hold of and communicate in regards to any questions for our upcoming trip. It was very unique to be on the Chain of Lakes in Alexandria area, being able to access lots of different places. The little 'sunroom' was so cute and cozy to have morning coffee in, looking out at the lake.
