"Smelled like paint and laundry facilities down due to construction"

"We decided to take a long weekend getaway to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area and thought we'd give this hotel a try. So glad we did! The hotel is pretty new (November?) and was absolutely spotless. Our room was one of the biggest standard king room we've ever stayed in. It felt like a rental condo more than a hotel room. The furnishings were so nice that we were trying to figure out what brand they were! The bathroom was huge, with a wonderful rainfall shower. We personally thought the mattress was a bit too firm and the pillows were pretty flat, but the staff provided us with a mattress topper to help. This is also a personal preference thing, so I wouldn't call it a negative in general. The restaurant / bar onsite had great food, especially the chips and salsa/queso appetizer! Our drinks were a bit weak, which was ironic coming from a bar at a Margaritaville hotel, but they were all served quickly by very attentive wait staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel. In fact, we're planning to return this summer with our family to try out their lazy river!"
