"This was a perfect, toasty warm, place for family to stay over the Christmas holiday. The open floor plan on the first floor is wonderful for communicating. The one year old enjoyed walking around this area. We enjoyed the big dinning table for meals, board games, and wrapping gifts. The beds were very comfortable. Two of the bedrooms have a water view in winter! The property managers are exceptionally attentive. They went above and beyond coming first thing in the morning to shovel snow!"

"My wife and I couldn’t be happier with our stay here. The cabin was cozy, inviting and had all the accommodations we needed. The setting: perfect! Right on the tidal river and seemingly in the middle of nowhere—but super close to anything we needed in Ellsworth. Centrally located for easy trips to MDI, Schoodic and Deer Isles/Stonington.Cannot recommend highly enough. "We were looking for one last trip together before the baby comes. The cottage at the Open Hearth Inn was perfect. A very comfortable, warm space with all the amenities we needed. While Acadia is not as close a walk as we thought it would be, it was a close drive. We are very happy we stayed there and hope to be returning some day with a bigger family. "
