Free breakfast was good. Hotel is located within walking distance of most of what we wanted to see. The room was nice. The carpets are old and need to be replaced but other than that the room was good.

We recently stayed at the hotel and had a mixed experience. Upon arrival, we were given a different room than the one we booked on Expedia, without notification. When we inquired about the discrepancy, we were told it was an "upgrade." However, the room had its drawbacks. While the carpet appeared unclean, the sofa had noticeable stains with an unpleasant odor, which we highly suspected might be urine. After bringing it to the staff's attention, they replaced the sofa, but the cause of the smell remained unclear. The bedroom was poorly lit, which added to our overall dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, we found the room to be unclean and not worth the price we paid. On a positive note, the reception staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, which was a redeeming aspect of our stay.

Our housekeeper Beatrice was amazing, she did a super job cleaning the room. Furniture was a little dated but we had an excellent experience overall.

We stay here often when not too expensive to get away and spend couple nights in Montreal. Location is fabulous and can bring snacks n breakfast as full kitchen. Good value for family in dwtn Mtl

Place is dated but centrally located walking distance to Chateau Frontenac/ Parliament and the old town area. Close to shops, restaurants and about 12 minutes drive to Montmorency falls. We tried the breakfast buffet it was okay for 26 Canadian $.

Chose this hotel because it was close to the MTELUS concert hall. I stayed from April 23-24 to attend a show by The Black Crowes. Even though I often travel to Montreal to attend concerts, I didn't know this hotel at all and I was reallt pleasantly surprised. Clean room, loved having a fridge with a ''kitchen area'' (didn't use the microwave), nice bed, big nice room in good condition The nightly rate was also really affordable. I would stay at Le Faubourg again! Negative points: didn't find the AC/heating controls in the room, so the place felt a bit hot, bathroom showed a tiny bit of wear and tear, but was pretty clean, sketchy characters hanging out close the place. It was a bit creepy coming back from the show late at night by myself but no one bothered me.

The hotel could be excellent if it is renovated , carpet in room terrible and did not want to seat on dirty looking sofa. The room is big and had kitchenette. People at the desk were very friendly and helpful. I did not have their included breakfast as it was not anything I wanted myself. The location is fantastic as I could walk everywhere I needed and also to the Metro. This hotel could be a fantastic one if they removed the old carpets and did better cleaning.

The hotel Faubourg was very central to downtown located right in Hôtel de Ville area. Perfect for walking around or getting around by metro. The receptionist was polite and friendly and even changed our booking for free and went above and beyond to do this which was very appreciated as we booked off Expedia. The area can be a little sketchy at night but I find that’s just overall Montreal downtown at night. As for cleanliness, the hotel was clean for the most part. There was rust at the bottom of the shower that we covered with a shower mat that they provided. This hotel definitely needs a renovation but it does have everything you need! The bed was 10/10 comfy. Merci Hôtel Faubourg! À la prochaine :)

What I liked about the property was how close it was to old Montreal. What i dislike was outside the hotel lots of panhandlers. Otherwise, good location.

The staff are nice and courteous. The breakfast is not bad,but it will be better if they can change or alternate sausage with ham/ bacon etc. the toaster should be replace with a bigger and faster one,to avoid long waiting and lined up. Overall, this is a good place to stay... grocery store nearby, Chinatown is also walkable as well as the Notre Dame Basilica.

With breakfast and underground parking, already a win win. Most of the hotels will offer a self paid parking but not right underneath the hotel for which is very convenient. Good location.

Very good breakfast, clean room, we were upgraded to a suite without any aditional cost so that was a really nice surprise. I would have given the place 5 stars if it weren't for the noise. We could hear people in the rooms around us and in the hallway way too clearly and were woken up several times in the night. Also the bed was a bit too firm for me but that's just a preference. Overall a great stay maybe just plan to bring some ear plugs especially if you're a light sleeper!
