This hotel is comfortable and good value in downtown Halifax. However, the hotel is showing wear. Bedside clock didn’t work. Only two towels provided.

Parking is a bit confusing and not super close. An optional valet service would go a long way. Hotel is totally fine but not a lot of amenities and customer service is very mediocre. Not bad, just nothing extra or special that would make me go “that was nice.”

Rooms are too old condition, exhaust fan inside bathroom doesn’t work. The next door tv noise was transparent. Too old bed soggy and wasn’t able to sleep whole night. Didn’t have all necessary accessories in bathroom. I was supposed to stay three nights but I checked out next morning canceled and booked Sutton Place Hotel, the very best.

Didn't like the fact that the room was about 20 years past a reno. Ugly water stains on the furniture. No excuse, so easy to sand out and refinish. The in-room hvac system was so loud during a heat cycle it had to be turned off for sleeping. I wanted to use the Business Lounge but the HVAC system in there was hammering really loudly and the TV was out of order. Really? a replacement TV is so cheap today absolutely no excuse. This hotel was designed many many years ago when the idea of rooftop courtyards was an acceptable one. Today a view of absolutely nothing isn't the way to connect guests with the city around them.

As an older facility, I was pleasantly surprised by how well kept it was. Thoroughly enjoyed the walks around the area and to the waterfront using the elevated sheltered paths. Parking was a breeze once I figured it out. My first late night parking was an adventure when I couldn’t figure out how to get out of the parking garage and walk to the hotel

The room we stayed in on the first floor was very old and could definitely use some updating. There wasn't air conditioning so the room was sweltering hot at times, particularly after showering (no fan in the bathroom either) and the windows didn't open. The walls were super thin so we heard a lot of other guests in neighboring rooms/the hallway. The hotel is in a fabulous location and extremely walkable to so many downtown locations (and right by a bus stop). The proximity to Scotia Square was also incredibly convenient, as was it being attached to the pedway link system. The staff was friendly, without exception. We stayed for two nights and nobody came to clean our room or replace towels in between but I believe that's standard practice in Halifax now. We ate one meal at the restaurant in the hotel and it was great (server was awesome). The front desk staff let us store our bags after we checked out since our flight wasn't until later, which was great. The hotel felt very safe. Prices were good compared to other hotels in the area, although the rooms could definitely use some updating. Would definitely stay here again.
