it was a dirty, half closed place with nothing to do - even the only food we found that wasn't Chinese was beyond funny - I imagine it is a summer destination. We had a conference at Standoff

"The hotel claimed they had no booking that I made via Expedia. So I was left with no alternative but to stay in vehicle the night before a 100 mile race. Definitely NOT ideal. Who to believe? Beyond disappointed! Definitely would always try and go directly to hotel to book."

We only stayed in Fort MacLeod one night to be close to the other things we wanted to see (Frank Slide, Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump and Vulcan). Nice little town. Pleasant, quiet and convenient for us. Enjoyed dinner in town at Johnny's.

The topography in Fort Macleod is amazing. Beautiful foot hills with the mountains right there as a backdrop. Breathtaking.
